Market Access And Development Officer
This position is based in Ramallah with regular fieldwork in all Palestinian areas.
The Market Access and Development Officer reports directly to the General Manager.

MARKET ACCESS AND DEVELOPMENT
-Create, implement, and monitor the Market Access and Development Action Plan in light of Asala Strategic Plan and Operational Plan; report on measurable indicators, setbacks and achievements.
-Design, plan and implement Asala Access to Market Activities in light of the operational and action plans; including exhibitions, e-marketing, point-of-sales development and other activities
-Assess the marketing needs of women products and suggest interventions and activities accordingly
-Innovate on designing activities that better help women products to reach to different markets
-Work on increasing and stabilizing the presence of women products in different markets
-Network and connect women producers to relevant markets and to customers
-Understand market demand and/ or changes, and come up with a plan and suggested activities to make women products more responsive to market needs
-Implement all activities approved by management in the scope of access to market work.
-Analyze, assess and recommend best practices in marketing, access to markets and enhance responsiveness of women products to market demands and needs.
-Plan, prepare, monitor and follow up on Asala’s marketing events (including: Bazars, exhibitions, campaigns related to Access to Market Activities).
-Establish and maintain strong relationship with all stakeholders: beneficiaries, women producers and CBOs, partners, retailers, wholesalers, trade and fair and trade organizations.
-Arranging and coordinating local, regional and international exhibitions of women products, trade delegations and visits to link women entrepreneurs to local, regional and international markets
-Developing Asala E-Marketing activities
-Fieldwork to document and report on success stories on Asala’s women beneficiaries all over the West Bank villages, camps and cities as required.
PRODUCTS DEVELOPMENT ANS CAPACITY BUILDING:
-Establish a strong relationship and understanding of Asala’s target group of women producers and their products development and capacity building needs to respond to market demands.
-Develop, implement, and monitor a products development plan in line with Asala’s strategy to women products enhancement and the market demand; report on measurable indicators, achievements, and setbacks
-Work on a branding, packaging and labeling of women products to enhance their overall quality, competitiveness and their presence and visibility in markets
-Assist in generating funds and mobilizing stakeholders to invest in Asala.
-Monitor the creation, design, implementation and communication of all campaigns aiming to support and raise awareness of women products.
-Network and cooperate with grassroots organizations and Women’s Organizations to promote Asala’s mission, objectives and results.
ADDITIONAL TASKS
-Provide inputs to develop Asala’s publications and promotion materials
-Provide information about Asala Access to Market Activities to responsible persons in preparing content for all printings materials (including annual reports, brochures, flyers… etc.)
-Promote Asala’s mission and work through writing news and reports on Asala’s Access to Market Activities and coordinate with responsible persons to publish them on media outlets and Asala’s website and Facebook page.-Contribute to updating and developing Asala’s related stakeholder’s database.
-Design projects action plans related to Market Access and Development and implement related activities with regular revision of project/ activity budget.
-Submit detailed work plans and updates on progress to General Manager in line with internal reporting requirements.
-Provide inputs (related to suggested access to market, product development and capacity building programs) in writing reports, concept notes, budget, budget narrative and proposals.
-Attend meetings and workshops as needed, both internally and externally to represent Asala NGO.
-Cooperate and coordinate with the team to ensure the best interest and performance of Asala according to its policies and procedures.
-Act as a member of Asala team and carry out any reasonable duties as requested by the line manager.
-Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by line manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
-BA degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Markets Development, E-Marketing or any related field
-2-4 years of Experience in women empowerment, women products development, socio-economic development projects design and implementation
-2-4 years of Experience in working with local or international NGOs and on donor-funded projects
-Excellent skills in arranging exhibitions, trade delegations, trade tours and visits
-Experience in E-Marketing approaches and methodologies is a plus
-Project Management certification/ experience is a plus
-Excellent communication, presentation, coordination, networking and negotiation skills
-Ability to write reports and news articles both in Arabic and English
-Excellent skills in spoken and written English and Arabic
