Action Against Hunger (ACF) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit making organisation working in the Palestinian Territory since 2002.
ACF is recruiting for its Hebron office one

Market Facilitation Officer


For a period of seven months

The Candidate will:

-Facilitate introductory meetings to be held with the targeted community, village councils, local committees, cooperatives and project team.
-Identification of target rights holders "farmers" for the Jameed pilot.
-Prepare bill of quantities for the required Jameed processing tools according to ACF procurement procedures.
-Develop Jameed market assessment report including mapping of clients across all West Bank (WB) governorates and especially in Ramallah.    
-Facilitate the establishment of database to monitor market trends especially for dairy products including Jameed, meat and fodder.
-Design the project data collection "baseline/ end line" questionnaires in accordance to the project Result.
-Liaise with the Palestinian Standard Institute (PSI) and Ministry of National Economy (MoNE) for standards and hygiene of “Jameed”.
-Propose and implement packaging and labeling techniques.
-Lead promotion workshops with famers and cooperatives for “Jameed” as a local brand in West Bank.
-Facilitate orders between selling points and farmers in cooperation with farmer cooperatives and/or individuals. 
-Achieve a target of 30% of the produced "Jameed" is sold in the targeted areas at a higher price than 2016 average.
-Help farmers in price setting process through demonstrating product added value and showing the WB market price monitoring database for similar items.
-Facilitate with private sector the creation of selling panels in selected points in the WB; especially Ramallah governorate.
-Deliver Jameed processing tools for the selected rights holders.

Profile of the Candidate:

-Bachelor degree in marketing, business, and/ or related fields
-Knowledge in marketing and sales, and specifically techniques for small farmers (holders).
-Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience preferably in sales promotion.
-Excellent knowledge of context in the West Bank.
-Interpersonal communication
-Excellent writing abilities
-Analytical knowledge
-Creativity and expression
-High Influencing and negotiation skills
-Team player
-Commercial nous
-Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
-Reading, writing and speaking both Arabic and English
-Good knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet
-Valid driving license and proven driving skills
