PalTrade was established in 1998, as a non-profit trade development organization, that was mandated as the Palestinian National Trade Promotion Organization. Currently, PalTrade is a membership based organization, that has evolved into an export development organization that is essential in leading the way for the implementation of a National Export Strategy for Palestine. PalTrade provides a wide range of export support in the areas of export development and market intelligence, export promotion , and export policy and advocacy. PalTrade leads the way in identifying existing and new international markets with the intention to increase Palestinian exports, and in return creating a growing and sustainable Palestinian economy.

PalTrade is seeking a candidate for the position listed below:

Market Intelligence Officer


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Management (20%):
-Collect and provide socioeconomic information on local and export target markets;
-Collect and provide information on local, regional, and international economic developments and trade data;
-Assess, identify, organize, retain, and utilize trade information resources;
-Continuously maintain, update, and capture new information databases needed to support PalTrade’s information resources;
-Proactively disseminate RELEVANT trade information to different stakeholders using different channels (e.g. social networks, SMS alerts, hard/soft copy studies);

Analytics, Report Writing (30%):
-Capture and analyze raw economic data;
-Produce trade/economic information reports;
-Develop country profiles (for targeted export markets);
-Conduct market research and develop research studies;
-Using a systematic approach, identify target markets for Palestinian products;
-Locate RELEVANT trade opportunities for Palestinian products/companies;

Handling Information Requests (30%):
-Capture and analyze raw economic data;
-Produce trade/economic information reports;
-Develop country profiles (for targeted export markets);
-Conduct market research and develop research studies;
-Using a systematic approach, identify target markets for Palestinian products;
-Locate RELEVANT trade opportunities for Palestinian products/companies;

Website Management and Other (20%):
-Maintain and update content of PalTrade website(s);
-Conduct “field visits” to companies and asses their marketing and production capabilities (using PalTrade development assessment templates);
-Write business-capability evaluation reports (with suggested solutions);
-Perform other relevant tasks as requested and needed by the Managers;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration and/or Economics, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing information systems, market research, market intelligence, and macroeconomic analysis.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
-Has a passion for helping small firms gain better access to information and business opportunities;
-Enjoys working in teams and thrives in a multi-stakeholder environment;
-Has an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving and report writing;
-Excellent Microsoft Excel skills;
-Excellent language skills in spoken and written Arabic and English;
-Excellent Internet use skills (i.e. power user);
