for full time math teachers.
About the Position and School:
Pioneers Baccalaureate School (www.pioneers.ps) in Nablus-Palestine, and belongs to the Future Pioneers charitable non-profit Society is seeking math teachers for the 2020-2021 school year. We are looking for teachers to take on positions in grades 7, 10, and 12
Topics for grades:
7th Grade—General Math
10th Grade---Algebra II
12th Grade---Calculus and PreCalculus
We are looking for teachers who are passionate about math and problem solving. A successful math teacher is someone with a strong understanding of the content who encourages students to ask questions, solve problems, and think of new ways to do things. Our teachers devote a lot of time to making lessons and materials that guide students through information, while also asking students to think critically about the practical applications of math in our daily lives. They also lead students to the knowledge needed for success on the SAT II Subject Exams in mathematics.
Performance Standards:
The Middle School Math Department is aligned to the performance expectations of the New York State Common Core Standards. The High School Math Department is a Larson-textbook based curriculum and prepares students to take the SAT I, as well as the SAT II Math 1 and Math 2 in high school.
*All science materials and lessons are conducted in the English language.

Required Qualifications:
-Degree in a math subject area (mathematics,engineering, physics, economics, computer science, etc.)
-Excellent English
-Outgoing personality
-Proficient in Microsoft Work, PowerPoint, and Excel
-Demonstrates patience and flexibility under stress
-Excellent problem-solving skills
-Self-starter
Preferred (but not required) Qualifications:
-Prior teaching experience (formally or informally)
-Prior training in teaching/education practices
-Familiar with the SAT I, SAT II subject tests, or Common Core Standards
-Familiar with student-centered learning
-Familiar with object-based learning
-Fire safety or first-aid/CPR training

After the first round of interviews, applicants will be asked to observe classes and give a sample lesson to students.
Following the sample lesson, if an applicant is offered a teaching position, they will be given training before taking on a class.
