Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, & Learning Assistat
Job Summary:
The MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Assistant will play a key role in supporting Anera’s MEAL activities to ensure data collection, analysis, and reporting are carried out effectively. Working under the supervision of the MEAL Manager and closely with program staff, the MEAL Assistant will assist in ensuring high-quality data management systems, supporting program teams to track progress and improve program quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Management:
- Assist in routine data collection for various field interventions and ensure accurate, clean, and consistent data is collected and entered into the database.
- Support the MEAL team in ensuring data is verified, compiled, and sorted accurately before it is entered into the system.
- Assist in tracking project progress using standardized data collection tools and methodologies.
Data Entry and Verification:
- Enter data from source documents into computer databases, files, and forms.
- Check source documents for accuracy and completeness, obtaining further information when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Documentation and Filing:
- Ensure proper filing and storage of MEAL documents, including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets, and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain organized records and ensure data is easily accessible to program teams for analysis and decision-making.
Support for Feedback Mechanisms:
- Assist in recording and analyzing feedback from beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
- Support in making feedback data accessible to program teams to inform programmatic decision-making.
Administrative Support:
- Respond to requests for information and retrieve relevant files as needed.
- Provide general support to the MEAL Manager and field teams in implementing MEAL activities.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with data integrity and confidentiality policies.
- Participate in preparing reports and analysis for program teams and external stakeholders as needed.
Additional Tasks:
- Participate in other MEAL activities as needed and contribute to improving overall MEAL systems and processes within the organization.

Job Requirements:
1. Education:
- University degree in Business, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Higher/Advanced Diploma (equivalent to two years of study after school) in a relevant field.
2. Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency with MS Office and other relevant computer applications.
- Strong clerical and administrative skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and maintain large datasets.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
3. Language:
- Fluency in both Arabic and English (oral and written) is essential.
4. Experience:
- At least 2 to 3 years of similar experience
- Prior experience in data collection, entry, and analysis is preferred.
- Experience working in the field of international development or humanitarian work is an advantage.
5. Personal Attributes:
- Flexibility and the ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated interest in international development.
