Job summary:

Bayader would like to hire a MEAL Coordinator to be part of the MEAL staff at Bayader and to work with the different projects implemented by Bayader.        

The MEAL Coordinator, under the supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for carrying out and developing, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities in the organization.

Position Title: MEAL Coordinator (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) - Part time (50%)

Place: Bayader Office, Khan Younis

Works in coordination with: MEAL Monitor , Project Coordinator ,field staff and Executive Director.

Direct Report: Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and/or update M&E tools, databases and monthly reporting formats in close collaboration with the MEAL focal points/project managers;
• Support the staff in data collection process using the organization system;
• Assist the program manager/ coordinator in monitoring and evaluating the program by reporting to donor on the program deliverables.
• Ensure quality data collection for participants’ verification and monitoring activities;
• Participate in MEAL meetings and events;
• Conduct data cleaning and analysis to ensure high quality data, compile a report with relevant indicator data per grant, showing targets versus actuals and an action plan and send it on a monthly basis;
• Advise the data collectors on data management and storage in the field;
• Ensure the project beneficiaries/stakeholders are aware with the project feedback and complaint mechanisms;
• Monitor overall project implementation and provide feedback to the project staff;
• Ensure relevant, timely, and quality support on monitoring and evaluation activities;
• Provide documentation and dissemination of key findings stemming from monitoring, evaluation, and other learning activities;
• Track and ensure organized, comprehensive electronic filing of documented findings/analyses;
• Perform any other tasks required by the Executive Director.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited universities in business administration, statistics, economics, sociology or other related field with at least good grade;
• At least three years experience of working in M&E with experience of developing M&E plans, training staff, capacity building, quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and reporting and/or other aspects of M&E in both emergency and development contexts and humanitarian and development programs;
• Three years of experience working with NGO's.
• MS Office applications, Word, Excel, Power Point, Spread sheets and other Statistical software;
• Thorough familiarity with principles and current approaches to M&E using both quantitative and qualitative methods;
• Understanding of donor expectations and trends for M&E;
• Knowledge and/or experience of working on accountability initiatives, information sharing and complaints response mechanisms;
• Highly developed communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching;
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods;
• Professional level in both Arabic and English language skills;
• Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic;
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines;
• Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
