Mechanical and Electrical Engineers - Paid Interns

Intersect Innovation Hub, on behalf of a partner organization in the UAE, is seeking two Mechanical Engineers and two Electrical Engineers to work as paid interns. The positions offer competitive salaries, accommodation, and incremental remuneration every six months to reward growth and dedication. These internships provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment and contribute to meaningful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation and Commissioning: Lead the installation and commissioning processes for the dewatering system, ensuring compliance with approved method statements and project deadlines.
2. Manpower Planning: Collaborate with projects foremen to allocate and manage the required manpower based on project needs.
3. Problem Identification: Observe and analyse system functioning and performance to identify operational problems and areas for improvement.
4. Troubleshooting: Investigate complaints and suggestions by conducting interviews with process supervisors and operators, and implement appropriate troubleshooting procedures.
5. Daily Operations Management: Oversee daily operations related activities, ensuring adherence to company standards, regulations, and policies.
6. Documentation: Ensure that all necessary project-related documentation is readily available and efficiently displayed at the site location.
7. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure that all operations are carried out within a safe working environment, in compliance with company HSE policies and legal regulations. Enforce standards and procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
8. Operational Priorities: Determine project objectives, such as efficiency, cost savings, energy conservation, operator convenience, safety, and environmental quality. Estimate the relevance, time, and costs associated with each objective.
9. Material Requisitions: Assist in generating materials requisitions based on the actual requirements of the projects.
10. Operations Reports: Ensure the accurate generation and submission of various operations reports, including but not limited to:
    • Project Daily Check List, generated by Foreman/Site In-Charge.
    • Project Weekly Material Report, generated by Foreman/Site In-Charge.
    • Monthly Project Diesel Consumption Report, generated by Foreman/Site In-Charge.
    • Monthly Project Site Work Done Report, generated by operation engineer.
    • Accident/Incident reports, Close out reports, generated by operation engineer.
    • Site specific reports -if any-.
11. Client Coordination: Maintain close communication and coordination with clients to achieve project goals and objectives.
12. Team Communication: Foster strong communication and coordination with project teams to optimize daily operational performance.
13. Manpower Verification: Verify manpower time sheets generated by site in-charges/foremen.
14. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the smooth operation of company equipment at the site by implementing preventive maintenance as per the schedules.
15. Cost Optimization: Implement cost-effective operations strategies to optimize project performance.
16. Problem Solving: Develop corrective actions to address daily operations problems and improve overall efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations is a plus
