BACKGROUND & OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
QADER is implementing a project titled “Supporting Persons with Disabilities” in Partnership with Save the Children International which aims to advocate for the rights and entitlements of persons with disabilities and to contribute to political change and improved conditions for persons with disabilities in the Palestine. The project involves advocacy-related activities and campaigns that aim to strengthen grassroots activism including by youth with disabilities, and call on the legislators and duty bearers to make all ongoing efforts and new initiatives inclusive to persons with disabilities, and to hold the government accountable to their commitments towards ensuring the implementation of the new law of persons with disabilities.
Within this project, QADER intends to hire a qualified Media & Communication officer who will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of a media campaign on the rights and entitlements of persons with disabilities. S/he should also support the development of effective key messages and systematic communication with key stakeholders and audiences.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promoting projects visibility through digital communications channels, by developing relevant and interesting content.
- Provide the needed support to the project team on the design of the media campaign.
- Follow up on the implementation of the media campaign and ensure its effectiveness, reach and engagement with targeted audience.
- Prepare media and communication materials on the project progress and key milestones and achievements.
- Managing communications for major project events.
- Support the project team with the translation of project media and communication materials as needed.
- Ensure compliance with QADER and SCI’s visibility policy and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- University degree in journalism, communications, public relations or a related field, Master’s degree is preferred;
- At least 3 years of experience in media and communication, preferably in development work
- Previous experience in projects on disability rights or child rights is a plus
- Excellent written and spoken communications skills, both in Arabic and English
- Proven ability to produce corporate communications materials.
- Additional technical skills are desirable, including knowledge of emerging media technologies and social media, proficiency in design and photo/video editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Final Cut Pro, etc.

- Able to self-manage, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Dynamic, creative, and innovative
- Able to plan, organize and deliver results
