Elamona/ Media Researches and Development

A-BACKGROUND
Elamona for Media Research and Development is a Palestinian independent and non-profit organization; Elamona promotes civic development, and increases awareness among civil society institutions on effective ways of networking with the private sector, international donors, and governmental offices.
It conducts studies and surveys in the field, and serves the needs of the local media while shifting into the digital age, and embracing innovative trends and practices in the industry with the assistance of an experienced team of local and international media experts, by offering e-learning programs and mid-career training, and facilitates the entry of new graduates into professional practice of journalism through its e-learning college (Tamkeen Academy).
Elamona is currently implementing a project “Media for Peace Building in Palestine” that aims to contribute to the promotion of a culture of tolerance, mutual trust and cohesiveness within the Palestinian society through a Strengthened and competent media. In order to do so, it strives to develop the institutional Capacity of 30 independent media outlets, in the WB and GS , and enhance the attitudes of the Palestinian population, and especially the young generation, towards tolerance, mutual trust and cohesiveness .

During this month 60 journalists from the WB and 20 journalists from GS (a total of 80) will each complete 15 days of competency training. They will be split in four groups of 20 people each, covering the South of the WB, the center, and the North, and the GS. Accordingly, the training sessions will take place in Hebron, Ramallah, Nablus and Gaza City. The aim of the course is to empower the local media organizations and sharpen their professional edge. During the training, journalists, editors and media managers will learn better practices in the field of broadcast, print and electronic media, in terms of reinforcing their neutrality, accuracy, and self accountability.

B-OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
Elamona is seeking a qualified Trainer to lead 3 days discussion and to train a group of 20 journalists from the WB on investigative journalism.

C-TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The trainer should direct the course that includes the following:

Module Three: Investigative Journalism (3 days)
This including developing training module material
Practical Training:” learning by doing” all training outcomes should be evaluated and handed over back to journalists to broadcasting at their respected three media outlets  (TV Radio and Print).
The trainer should develop the module to be posted at Elamona TAMKEEN PROTAL according to its theory to teaching.

D-Qualifications & Experience:
-University Degree – preferably in Development or related field.
-Minimum of five years experience in the field.
-Minimum of five years experience in training of Media practitioners

E-DURATION

To be mutually agreed upon, but should not exceed 3 days per week.

F-DELIVERABLE
The trainer should deliver a hardcopy and a softcopy of the training technical report, both in Arabic and English languages and should include evaluation of trainees.

G-Terms of Payment
Applicants are expected to submit a price quote, with their CV and short track record.
Upon review & evaluation of the proposals, the best technical qualifications with the lowest price offer will be selected.

H-Special Conditions

1-To submit the CV and full proposal (Technical and Financial) should be to the attention of Elamona for Media Research & Development.
2-Consultant should adhere to the Organization financial procedures.
3-To submit zero VAT invoice to the attention of Elamona for Media Research & Development.
4-Applicants should have the ability to issue VAT exemption certificate and Deduction at source certificate ((شهادة خصم مصدر.
5-For individuals who cannot fulfill what is needed in the last two conditions(#3 and #4 conditions), they should submit payment request and  Elamona will deduct the value of the income Tax 5% from the payment request and pay it directly to the Palestinian VAT department.
6-Commitment to provide the institution with financial claim on behalf of the institution Elamona for Media Research and Development – Media for Peace Building.
