MSF-France is currently seeking to hire a
DAILY WORKER MEDICAL INTERPRETER
Contract type: No contract will be offered. This recruitment aims at the creation of a DAILY WORKER POOL for MSF-F In Nablus.
Main Responsibilities of the position
- Translate documents from / to mission language into a local one upon request.
- Translate discussions / meetings as requested
- Always keep respect towards patients, collaborators, authorities, military factions and MSF staff participating in discussions.
- Ensure confidentiality of all translation is maintained as directed by the Mission/Project coordination team.
- Ensure neutrality and accuracy when translating.
- Declare any “conflict of interest” when asked to translate (e.g. personal involvement) which would necessitate using other staff members for translation.
- Inform international staff about local customs, tradition, etc., that will help understand better the context and better communicate.
- Inform medical staff about important cultural nuances to consider during a meeting, medical consultation or interview with local people.
- Participate in staff trainings and meetings as an interpreter.
- Provide face to face interpreting, as well as during telephone and radio calls or other telecom devices, when necessary.
- Adapt communication to any circumstances, using appropriate language registry as well as diplomatic and courtesy manners.
- Translate MSF internal / external documents into local language(s).
- Look after all equipment provided, i.e. dictionaries or other books that belong to MSF.

Requirements
Education: University Degree in English Language , English Literature or Translation with health knowledge advisable.
Experience: 1 year of minimum experience in a similar job; experience with MSF or other NGOs desirable
Language: bilingual in English and Arabic.
