GAZA SUB-DELEGATION
Mental Health & Psychosocial Support / fixed term contract (till end of 2015)
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an independent, neutral organization ensuring humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of war and armed violence. It takes action in response to emergencies and at the same time promotes respect for international humanitarian law and its implementation in national law.
Your Job (main tasks)
-Works closely with the Health Delegate assigned to Psychosocial / Mental Health Programs
-Supports and represents the Head of Department to liaise on a regular basis with the Government, local authorities, and other designated agencies and authorities in order to develop strong and consultative relationships with relevant local, regional and national government officials and departments
-Together with the Health Delegate, defines and follows a programs to ensure access to mental health and psychosocial services for specific beneficiaries as defined by the health team.
-Supports the development and implementation of trainings and workshops, including simultaneous translation and practical organization of activities.
-Works with Health Delegate to establish, maintain and develop activities related to ICRC programs
-Documents, analysis and evaluation of the collected information from any monitoring activities.
-Contributes to the development and implementation of a plan of Mental Health and Psychosocial activities, including the development of a program to ensure access to mental health and psychosocial services for specific beneficiaries as defined by the health team.
-Supports and represents the Health Delegate to liaise on a regular basis with the Government, local authorities, and other designated agencies and authorities.
-Collects and reports as required, gathers situational information and remains up to date with ICRC plans and programs.
-Interprets accurately from English to Arabic and vice versa.
-Contributes to written reporting.
Your Profile (skills & experience required)
-High school or professional diploma (Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health and with relevant field experience)
-3 - 5 years work experience in a similar field
-Good knowledge of written and spoken English
-Good computer skills
-Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
-Good analytical skills
