Position: Program Coordinator

Project Brief: The MECI Comprehensive After-School in Beit Rima, West Bank,has established community-based development program in Beit Rima schools with support from the Middle East Children’s Institute (MECI) and implemented by Mercy Corps. The program works in close cooperation with the Ministry of Education in Ramallah.
Position Goal: The Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the multi-faceted Comprehensive After-School. This will include supervising and evaluating program staff, coordinating activities for youth and children, overseeing procurement of educational and recreational supplies. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for compiling narrative reports to donors and Mercy Corps. The program includes a nutritious food component supported by a local CBO and food is purchased locally all of which is supervised by the Coordinator.   Location: Based 90% in Beit Rima and 10% in Ramallah at the Mercy Corps office.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in education, social work or related social science  required.

• Three years or more of work experience in education required.
• Background in project management in the civic sector (non-profit, nongovernment)
• preferred.
• Ability to manage project staff and team work is essential.
• Strong English and Arabic written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in written and oral translation between English and Arabic required.

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in all MS applications.
