Program Department Summary:

Mercy Corps’ Global Youth Connectivity program exists to educate and engage young people across boundaries to build a coalition of global citizens capable of and responsible for building secure, productive and just communities around the world. Mercy Corps other youth program goal is mainly focused on Palestinian Youth Advocacy for Equity and Employment.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Officer for Gaza Youth Programs will supervise all youth programming in Gaza with a specific focus in the two programs mentioned in the department summary. S/he will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the aforementioned youth programming are executed in alignment with their respective grant agreements. S/he will ensure that objective are being met, and will help develop and coordinate the program’s efforts to measure impact through performance management/monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and provide timely information to donors, and HQ,

Main Responsibilities:

Oversee and ensure the successful implementation of all activities designated to

successfully accomplish empowerment of Palestinian youth by advancing opportunities

for advocacy and employability. Oversees the successful implementation of all activities, exchange and digital media productions as part of the Global Youth C in Gaza.

Qualification

1. Proven success managing the administration and compliance of donor funding. At

least 5 years of relevant experience in field and management of youth programs.

2. Excellent English writing and speaking skills. Excellent Arabic written, spoken.

3. Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and

prioritization skills are necessary.

4. Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and

work independently and cooperatively with team members is required;
