As part of our Projects on Inclusive Education supporting and developing inclusive education policies, practices and culture in Awqaf schools in East Jerusalem, Terre des Hommes Italy is looking for qualified professionals to be hired from July/August 2016 until April 2017.
TdH It offers:
1 post for the position of Mobile Team Leader (MTL) – part-time
The MTL will be part of the team that promotes inclusive policy, practice and culture in the community, recognizing that inclusion in education is one aspect of inclusion in society. S/he will coordinate a mobile team of educators helping children who are excluded from the school system overcome barriers to learning; s/he will be responsible for activity planning, development and supervision of the monitoring system and development of needed educational material and resources. S/he will be also in charge of conducting a need assessment focused on fundamental rights (health, education, adequate legal support etc.) of children as stated both in the Local Laws and relevant Conventions/Treaties and investigate their enjoyment by identified children.
Candidates need to possess the following requirements
-At least a BA in Special/Inclusive Education, Education, Psychology or other relevant field.
-At least 3 years of relevant work experience in schools or other educational settings (work experience with INGOs is an asset, previous working experience with TdH is a plus)
-Competence, skills and a solid commitment towards promoting inclusion, the principles of development and the organizational goals of TdH It
-Knowledge of models of learning and principles of effective teaching, including appropriate intervention strategies
-Proven ability in conducting research and needs assessments
-Sound organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team and to interact with diverse stakeholders
-Good communication skills and capacity to build consensus and promote the implementation of a shared vision
-Sound organizational, problem solving and reporting skills
-Fluency in written and spoken Arabic; Good command of written and spoken English
-Good computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point).
