Programme Description
The Palestinian Market Development Programme (PMDP) is funded by UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the European Union (EU) in-cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy and implemented by DAI-Europe over a period of five years, with offices in Ramallah and Gaza. The programme has been designed to improve market systems and improve the competitiveness of the Palestinian private sector. PMDP aims to improve private sector competitiveness through technical assistance and matching grants. Additionally, PMDP will work on strengthening trade and investment linkages as well as linkages with the Palestinian Diaspora to play an active role in economic development in the OPTs.
We are currently recruiting a Gaza-based Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Scope of Work
The M&E Specialist will assist the M&E Manager to meet the monitoring and evaluation requirements in cooperation with Gaza strip office management.
She/he will assist in monitoring and tracking progress towards achieving results, collect and report on key performance indicators using the appropriate monitoring tools under the supervision of the M&E Manager.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
-Support on-going data collection, analysis and self-verification for project monitoring and evaluation purposes.
-Conduct site visits to ensure data collection validity and reliability.
-Support work to ensure that accurate and complete monitoring, evaluation and data collection, storage systems, records and files are set up, maintained and updated.
-Work closely with the technical team in Gaza strip to track PMDP’s programme progress through periodic programme progress reports with required figures and trends.
-Support the implementation of surveys, tools, and forms according to the Monitoring and Evaluation Plan
-Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
-Manage reporting requirements and submit professional quality reports to the West Bank & Gaza Strip offices management on a timely manner
-Enter and update the management information system TAMIS with the needed information.
-Help the communication specialist in capturing success stories and case studies.
-Provide other related support as required by the direct supervisor to other staff members.
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
To be appointed for the above mentioned opportunity, the candidate shall meet the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
-Bachelor’s degree in a social science, development or equivalent standard of education
-At least 4 years of experience in conducting research and carrying out monitoring or evaluations related work
-Strong knowledge of the logical framework approach and M&E methods & Tools.
-Excellent experience in data collection, research and reporting.
-Experience in Qualitative and Quantitative Research.
-Adept skills in project cycle management.
-Knowledge in privet sector development.
-Fluency in English and Arabic, both oral and written.
-Good report writing in both languages.
-Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
-Strong computer skills particularly with one or more types of data analysis and management software (e.g., Excel, SPSS).
-Valid driving license.
