DanChurchAid (DCA) and East Jerusalem YMCA – Women’s Training Program (EJ YMCA-WTP) is working together in a project funded by the European Commission Humanitarian Organisation (ECHO) to provide access to clean water and hygiene training for vulnerable communities East of Bethlehem. The project started 1st of July 2013. The project title is: “A Multi-Sectoral WATSAN/PROTECTION/Advocacy Action in Area C in the West Bank benefitting the most vulnerable rights

holders and targeting duty bearers - Phase II

The project is recruiting a Monitoring and Information Officer for ongoing monitoring of the project, especially of the quality of water provided through the project.

A Monitoring and Information Officer (MIO) will be contracted to work for 10 months to undertake ongoing monitoring of the water quality and project indicators. The MIO will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Monitor the water quality of the cisterns constructed / rehabilitated in the previous projects as well as in the cisterns constructed/ rehabilitated in the current project
-Monitor the use of ceramic water filters in Bedouin households.
-Monitor the water quality in the cisterns.
-Monitor and follow up on project indicators in close cooperation with the project coordinator.
-Develop and prepare annual and monthly reports on OVIs.

Key Qualifications:
Have minimum a bachelor degree in relevant field (e.g. water engineering, water resources, environmental management…..)
Have experience with monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian projects.
Have excellent communication skills in (oral and written) English.
Knowledge and work experience with Bedouins an advantage.
Have a strong personality, and have the ability to work under pressure.
Have good relations with the local communities.
