A leading Arabic portal is looking for a community manager with strong Internet and new media background to join our marketing team and drive the company’s community growth.
The successful candidate will build Portal community section and create an ongoing dialogue with the media and portal’s users and service providers that will measurably grow the engagement, use and value of the portal .
The successful candidate must be capable of working independently. Internet and new media experience is a must. Knowledge of the medical industry is an advantage. We seek a highly a motivated individual with experience and passion for blogging, media and community participation leadership.
The community manager will be part of the portal’s marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
-The community manager will communicate portal’s brand using social and traditional media and engage both in a continuous dialogue to promote the portal and its vision. He/She will actively participate in social media conversations
-The community manager will be responsible to pull doctors and other health providers to contribute content to the portal site, and develop working cooperation with them, whether through forums, articles, dedicated blogs and other forms of content contribution. They will be in charge of the strategy and day to day implementation of the portal’s community section. The community manager will work with the company’s content and development teams to ensure the community section is aligned with the company’s goals.
-The community manager will curate content into the portal blog and site and blog extensively.
-The community manager will be responsible for all SEO, referrals and paid search activities surrounding the community section. Conduct keyword research including cataloging and indexing target keyword phrases.
-The community manager will set quantitative goals for all of the above, track and analyze them, optimize and eventually meet those targets, making the portal the most prominent medical community with the most user generated high quality content.
-Minute by minute participation in conversations that surround our content and brand, exploit buzz, share and track content
-Manage and track link building campaigns, coordinated with all facets of our business.
-Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the social media campaigns.
-Work with the Product development team to ensure the community platform (for ex. forums, blogs, moderation tools) are kept up to date and functional, as well as influence the roadmap by collating user feedback
Desired Skills and Experience
-B.A in advertising, marketing, communications, journalism, sociology, history or related.
-Excels at research, possesses excellent writing skills and the ability to rapidly generate editorial writing.
-Has work experience or training in advertising, PR, online marketing or similar field
-Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
-Dedicated to blogging and use of Facebook
-Understands the power of feed marketing
-Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media, social media addict, understands social media
-Demonstrated ability to map out a marketing strategy and then drive that strategy proven by testing and metrics
-Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing
-Strong analytical skills
-Discretion to identify threats and opportunities in user generated content
-Knowledge of search engine optimization-think including basic keyword research.
-Has excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment
