Part time Financial and Administrative Officer

medico international is an international non-governmental organization which struggles for the human right to the best possible access to good health. In doing so we support local partners in their endeavours to create the economic, social and cultural conditions which allow each person to attain the highest health standard possible. In particular Medico stands by those who are in situations of emergency and in poverty, including refugees and the victims of war.
medico seeks a dynamic, reliable and qualified part time Financial and Administrative Officer (m/f) as a temporary replacement to be based in Ramallah office. The incumbent shall render support in the areas of finance, day to day control and maintenance activities, purchasing, and other administrative responsibilities.
Main tasks and responsibilities
The successful candidate shall perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:
-processes of payment requests and daily financial transactions to ensure an efficient financial flow process and timely payments for the goods and services required for the office day–to-day performance. (Such as salary tables, calculates income tax and ensures timely payment of all services)
-prepares monthly financial reports of the office.
-prepares monthly reconciliation of bank and cash book and documentation of exchange rate calculation. organizes the general filing in the m.i. office Ramallah.
-ensures at all times proper application of laws and tax requirements.
-collects documentation of money transfer and exchange rate documents from partners.
-participates in answering partners regarding project finances and time frames closely with the m.i. Representative in Palestine, Finance Administration Officer, and counterpart in Frankfurt.
-is in charge of reminding partners to keep time frames and to report timely
-makes sure annual audited reports of partners are ready on time to be sent to Frankfurt
Qualifications/Skills required
-Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other relevant discipline.
-At least 2 years of relevant experience. Applications without this experience will not be considered!
-At least 2 years of relevant financial work experience in an INGO. Applications without this experience will not be considered!
-Experience in dealing with donor funding requirements.
-Ability to communicate across organizational boundaries and borders (Israel, West Bank and Gaza, Germany)
-Good communications and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work in a multicultural environment
-Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
-Ability to meet deadlines effectively, and work independently under minor supervision.
-Accuracy and attention to details, and excellent organizational skills.
-Proven computer skills, including experience using MS Office (Excel, and Word)
-Perfect command of written and spoken English & Arabic.
Duty station: Ramallah
Working language: English
Type of position: 80%- (8 hours for four days weekly)
Contract: Short term (4 months)
