Partnership Specialist
IREX is an international nonprofit organization providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally. IREX enables local individuals and institutions to build key elements of a vibrant society: quality education and innovative youth development programming, independent media, and strong communities.
In the West Bank and Gaza, IREX is implementing the USAID funded Partnerships with Youth (PWY) program. The PWY program will expand educational and leadership opportunities for youth age 14-29 throughout the West Bank by creating sustainable hubs for youth innovation and learning in different fields such as Media, ICT, soft skills, communication, languages, sports etc. The PWY program builds on and expands USAID-supported Youth Development Resource Centers (YDRCs) to create opportunities with and for youth - for active youth learning and innovation in the West Bank. The program will improve the organizational environment of three existing YDRCs, establish eight new YDRCs, and build a network of youth centers in rural areas. IREX and USAID will also build supportive partnerships so that youth have better access to educational and leadership opportunities that respond to their aspirations.
IREX seeks a Partnership Specialist to provide technical and management support to the USAID-funded Partnerships with Youth (PWY) program in the West Bank.
Summary of Responsibilities:
-Develop and nurture partnerships between PWY and private and public enterprises at the international, national, and district levels;
-Create and implement a partnership strategy for PWY, and develop a related outreach and networking plan;
-Conduct meetings and phone calls with international and local companies, non-governmental organizations, and other entities;
-Provide training and technical assistance to Youth Development Resource Centers (YDRCs) on partnership development;
-Assist YDRCs to develop and implement outreach plans intended to create new and sustain existing partnerships;
-Maintain a partnership tracker for PWY with related supporting documentation (e.g., memoranda of understanding or other agreements), and assist YDRCs to maintain their own partnership trackers and related documentation;
-Ensure that any cost share resulting from partnerships with either PWY or the YDRCs is properly documented;
-Contribute to effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of partnership activities; and
-Represent IREX and support its organizational development.
Skills and Qualifications:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and need a minimum of five years of progressive management experience in the following areas:
-Experience with developing strategic partnerships and/or conducting networking and outreach for donor-funded programs, experience with U.S. government-funded youth or educational programming preferred;
-Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage workplans, and plan strategically and creatively to meet specified objectives;
-Experience designing and implementing outreach plans and partnership strategies;
-Experience designing and implementing training and technical assistance on partnership development, experience with or familiarity of youth-serving organizations preferred;
-Superior writing, editing, and oral presentation skills, evidenced by professional experience;
-Experience with program communications and outreach
-Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and multi-task;
-Experience in resource mobilization and familiarity with local donor community and youth-serving organizations; and
-English and Arabic language skills are required.
