Pharmacist

Holy Family Hospital provides a wide range of medical care that includes the delivery services, prenatal and antenatal care, Well women clinic, diabetic clinic for pregnant women, Gynecology surgeries, Intensive care Unit for premature babies, outpatient clinics.

The Hospital belongs administratively and financially to the Order of Malta which is a religious Order that was found in Jerusalem in the year 1048. Its mission is summed up in its motto: “Tuitio fidei et obsequium pauperum, "Defence of the faith and assistance to the poor", this is highly seen in their projects that are active in 120 countries caring for people in need through its medical, social and humanitarian works, without regard to religion, national origin.

The Holy Family Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist.

The Pharmacist is responsible for performing all clinical duties necessary to ensure that a pharmacy is running efficiently, Control the usage of medicine in the different departments and checking stock to determine inventory levels, preparing daily medication such as “TPN”, Writing protocols, etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing daily medication such as “TPN” (Total Parental Nutrition) solution.
• Writing protocols and guidelines for drug use within the hospital and implement hospital regulations.
• Responsible for the accurate dispensing and timely distribution of drugs and medicines in the hospital.
• Giving Continues educations Lectures concerning medication for medical staff.
• Providing advice on the dosage of medicines and the most appropriate form of medication.
• Ensuring that the products are stored appropriately and securely to ensure expiry date and potency on monthly basis.
• Get more involved in the clinical work of the pharmacy to achieve appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines.
• The Pharmacist supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies, follow up on proper inventory receipt.
• Being part of the AMSI group.

Technical Skills

• Good command of English language.
• Excellent use of computer software and computer skills is necessary.
• Able to work as a part of a team under the supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of software and system.

Educational Requirements

• A degree in Doctor of Pharmacy from a recognized university.
• Holds a License from the Palestinian Ministry of Health to practicing the profession
• Four years of practical experience is required in a similar position.
• Priority for applicant’s form Bethlehem District.

Interested candidates are to fill a special application form that may be obtained from the reception office at Holy Family Hospital on daily basis from 8:00 am to 03:00pm.
