a Public Relations (PR) Manager for the Caritas Baby Hospital in Bethlehem, Palestine
Childrens Relief Bethlehem (CRB), Caritas Baby Hospital (CBH) Children’s Relief Bethlehem is an international ecclesiastical aid agency supporting the people in need in the Holy Land. It provides help for children and mothers and thus commits to a sustainable, holistic and social development.
Children’s Relief Bethlehem is the umbrella organization of Caritas Baby Hospital in Bethlehem. This is the central project. Furthermore it is committed to projects for children, mothers, and their families in the Holy Land who are suffering from health and social challenges. CRB builds relationships with institutions pursuing similar
objectives.
Tasks of the PR Manager
You are the head of the public relations team of Caritas Baby Hospital and report to the CEO and the head fundraiser of CRB. With clear and effective communication and fundraising (70 % for the head office in Lucerne, Switzerland and 30 % local) you enhance donations and the image of the hospital and Childrens Relief Bethlehem.
The following tasks are included.
-Public relations and fundraising support, proposal, evaluation for the head office of Children’s Relief Bethlehem in Switzerland and the local fundraising offices in Germany, Italy, Austria and United Kingdom. Attend regular meetings, web conferences and Skype calls.
-Contact for journalists and reporter for all fundraising offices
-Effective leading of the PR team.
-Ensure balanced use of budgeted funds.
-Prepare annual plan of action.
-Supervise and support the visitors’ manager with the annual 16’000 pilgrims visiting the Hospital. Report to the external controllers annually. Support in guiding VIPs and international visitors through the hospital.
-Design and carry out the annual action plan for fundraising and communication.
Qualifications of the PR Manager
1-University degree in public relations, fundraisings (or neighbouring fields) and a minimum of three to five years of experience in a leading PR position – or extensive experience will be considered if no degree is available.
2-Proven management and leadership skills and experience.
3-Bilingual mother tongue of German and English is a must. Multilingual skills: Italian, Arabic, French are very usefull.
4-Conceptual thinking and implementing.
5-Presentation skills.
6-Very good computer skills (MS Office).
7-Excellent communication, social and networking skills.
8-Intercultural knowledge, experience and skills (Middle East and western culture, especially European).
9-Welcoming attitude to visitors, donors, journalists, tour guides and agencies.
10-Nature of the work requires regular travel upon need to Europe. Has to be available for work out of the regular duty hours.
