Global Communities seeks a Private Sector Engagement Officer for the USAID West Bank/Gaza Pioneers-Raedat Project. This five-year $35M program is intended to leverage women's potential to create ripple effects that shift gender-based power relations within the Palestinian community. This Activity will improve institutional frameworks and processes in select sectors to ensure they align with legal requirements and international best practices (both existing and new that might be advanced through implementation) for the inclusion of women. It will also support communities to develop the necessary tools to promote women's inclusion, build the capacity and confidence of individual women by engaging institutions of higher education and civil society, develop male allies, political structures, and the private sector, and strengthen public awareness and advocacy around women's issues, including gender-based violence (GBV).
Position Summary :
The Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Officer facilitates Raedat Activity's private sector engagement strategies, contributing directly to gender equality and women's economic empowerment. The PSE Officer will engage the private sector, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to advance systemic changes promoting inclusive and equitable workplaces for women. This role includes identifying opportunities, managing partnerships, and implementing activities that align with the broader strategic goals outlined by the Economic and Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Team Leader.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Private Sector Engagement Strategy Implementation
- Execute private sector engagement initiatives to foster gender-sensitive policies and practices, ensuring alignment with Raedat's objectives and the private sector engagement strategy.
- Manage partnerships with private sector entities and service providers to ensure effective collaboration and resource mobilization for women's economic empowerment interventions.
- Monitor and ensure the delivery of gender equality programs within partner institutions, including training on workplace practices, gender-sensitive recruitment, and retention strategies, ensuring measurable progress toward creating equitable environments.
- Partnership Development and Management
- Maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local businesses, industries, NGOs, and academic institutions, ensuring their active engagement in Raedat's private sector initiatives.
- Monitor and assess partnerships to ensure that they align with project goals and deliver measurable improvements in workplace inclusivity and gender-sensitive practices.
- Work with the private sector to develop concepts for future interventions that are alignment wit Raedat overall objective.
- Capacity Building and Technical Assistance
- Facilitate work-based learning programs in coordination with academic institutions and private sector partners, ensuring that women and youth gain access to career development opportunities that align with market needs.
- Strategic Project Implementation
- Facilitate the implementation of market-driven interventions to increase women's participation in economic sectors, focusing on industries with growth potential through market research and sector analyses.
- Coordinate closely with the PSE Team Leader and other project components to ensure that activities under the private sector engagement strategy contribute to the broader Raedat Activity objectives and annual work plan goals.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Track the progress of private sector engagement activities by ensuring robust monitoring and evaluation processes, collecting data on gender equality impacts, and reporting regularly to the PSE Team Leader.
- Contribute to preparing project reports related to private sector engagement, ensuring the documentation of successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Prepare all the internal documentations needed for implementation (procurement requests, purchase orders…etc)
- Resource Mobilization
- Identify and pursue opportunities for resource mobilization within the private sector, leveraging financial contributions and in-kind support to enhance the implementation of gender equality initiatives in workplaces.
- Coordinate with the Hassaleh Innovation Fund and other grant components to ensure that funds are effectively used to support women-led businesses and gender-equitable practices in private sector entities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, or related fields.
- Minimum three years of professional experience in private sector engagement, business development, or economic empowerment.
- Proven ability to implement private sector engagement strategies, fostering sustainable partnerships and measurable outcomes.
- Basic awareness of the needs of the main economic sectors in Palestine
- Previous experience in women empowerment project is a plus.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, particularly in the West Bank and Gaza, including businesses, NGOs, and academic institutions.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading market-driven solutions for women's economic empowerment.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
