Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team.
MAP is seeking a Procurement Assistant to provide support to the Gaza team with the procurement necessary for the current and ongoing emergency response under the supervision of the Finance manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily procurement requests to ensure quality and efficiency, ensure that all procurement documents are digitally archived, support with enforcing compliance with legal and MAP standards, and managing purchase requests.
Responsibilities include supporting the team with preparing tender procurement documents. Conducting procurement activities and assisting in price and technical analysis, collaborating with team members and vendors, analysing offers, and evaluating supply chain effectiveness. Furthermore, maintaining accurate records, support the team with procurement plans, submitting payment documentation, and performing additional duties as assigned are key aspects of the job.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field is required, and will have professional experience in accounting principles and production. Additionally, a strong understanding of financial principles is crucial, especially in analysing procurement budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Proficiency in English and Arabic communication is necessary, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
