Procurement Officer

 

The successful candidate will:
1. Undertake the tendering, evaluation, placement and monitoring of a portfolio of hospital contracts
2. Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and whole life costing
3. Participate in negotiation of contract terms and to monitor performance against these contracts
4. Participate in the Purchasing Committee activities working closely with the representatives of the committee
5. Actively promote the procurement function within the hospital including the development and improvement of training and skills of staff involved in the devolved purchasing environment within the hospital
6. Monitor internal control over the inventory and storerooms
7. Participate in internal and external meetings promoting procurement best practice
8. Maintain an up to date knowledge of related procurement legislation including major donors’ regulations for public procurement
11. Assure that our procurement activities are carried out in an environmentally responsible manner to ensure all resources are utilized effectively and efficiently

Qualifications:
-Bachelor in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
-Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience with an international organization
-Fluency in oral and written English. Basic knowledge of German/ Italian is a big plus.
-Knowledge of international and local donor agencies requirments and procedures
-Ability to Carry out the duties of this post in a manner which promotes equality of opportunity
