The Position:
The Program Associate (PA) will be based at UNFPA CO in Jerusalem work under the supervision of the Gender/ GBV Program Analyst, and in close cooperation with the UNFPA team based in West bank and Gaza.

Job Purpose:
The Program Associate will play an instrumental role in facilitating the delivery of UNFPA’s country program and support the management in monitoring and evaluation of the country program outputs mainly the area of sociocultural norms towards gender equality and prevention of Gender-based Violence in the development and humanitarian protracted crisis in Palestine.
The Program Associate will apply established systems and procedures and assist in the creation of substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing information relevant to gender and gender-based violence. He/she will contribute to facilitating programme/ project implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
You would be responsible for:
Program Implementation:
- Participating in the implementation of the country programme components (both development and humanitarian) related to subject area by compiling and analyzing information in the subject areas of UNFPA assistance to the Government and community.
- Drafting and contributing to project documents and work plans, donor reports, financial tracking and monitoring programme implementation in relation to the annual targets and agreed indicators.
- Following-up with implementing partners for the timely submission of expenditure reports and narratives, as per UNFPA policies procedures and examining financial reports for accuracy and consistence against approved budgets.
- Assisting in achieving results, conducting field visits, organizing and participating in review meetings and evaluation missions and preparing regular inputs to status and progress reports including for humanitarian projects and preparing regular inputs to status and progress reports.
- Providing analyses on basic factors affecting the achievement of results, and recommending corrective actions and follow up on recommendations.
- Contributing to the creation and sharing of knowledge by documenting findings and lessons learned, success stories and best practices, strategies and approaches of the Country office and drafting relevant materials for dissemination.
- Supporting the advocacy and resource mobilization strategy of the Country Office through compiling and synthesizing relevant background material for use in discussions and public events.
- Maintaining updated information on protection commodity procurement such as dignity and hygiene kits and following-up with relevant partners on distribution based on the community needs.
- In coordination with national counterparts and project personnel, undertaking and guiding routine implementation of assigned projects, coordinating the delivery of projects inputs, ensuring participation of national counterparts in training activities and study tours.
- Provideing logistical support to projects by coordination of meetings, discussions, consultations and other project related workshops and events.
- Coordinating with operations on provision of training and supporting project personnel and staff on national execution and programme policies and procedures.
- Supporting the process of raising requisitions, following-up the process until final delivery of products.
Any other related duties as may be required and assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Completed Secondary Level Education required. First level university degree desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Seven years of relevant experience in gender and GBV programme/ project management.
- Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic
