Program Coordinator
Mercy Corps (MC) is a non-profit, non-aligned, secular non-governmental (NGO) humanitarian relief and development organization, registered in the United States and Scotland with offices in more than 40 countries around the world, including the West Bank and Gaza, where the organization has been active in implementing relief and development programs for nearly a decade.
Mercy Corps is currently recruiting for the following fulltime position based in Ramallah.
Program Coordinator
Main Responsibilities: The Program Coordinator (PC) will provide programmatic and administrative support for Mercy Corps Programs in the West Bank. The PC will work with a network of local and multinational partners and stakeholders on issues concerning youth training employability, capacity building, and economic development. The PC will work closely with the Program Manager on all aspects of the program and provide effective and efficient support to ensure smooth implementation including administrative, logistical and procurement support, information gathering, and training coordination. The PC will work to ensure data quality, including, data collection, data entry, and sound filing and documentation of program records for participants and activities.
-Help select participants for Mercy Corps organized trainings.
-Monitor trainings and program activities and provide all support needed.
-Works cooperatively with Mercy Corps staff, local and multinational partners and NGOs, and other parties.
-Collect monitoring and evaluation data and maintain relevant program files and support documents including USAID’s Mission Order 21 regulation.
-Update and maintain program’s participant database including data entry.
-Assist in the preparation of tender documents, and follow up on procurement activities with MC procurement and Finance team.
-Liaises and coordinates with Mercy Corps departments as needed (including logistics and Admin).
-Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its mission.
Qualifications:
-A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Social Science, IT or other relevant fields.
-Prior working experience in project programming and administration is a plus (newly university graduates with excellent academic grades in related fields are also encouraged to apply).
-Computer skills with strong familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel are mandatory.
-Good understanding of international NGOs’ and funding agencies regulations (including USAID projects).
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English and Arabic languages.
-Experience with USAID’s programs and MO21 is a plus.
-Attention to detail, initiative, ability to follow procedures, handle multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members as needed.
-Understanding of the social, political, and economic context of the Palestinian territories.
-Strong analytical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to generate briefings and coordinate meetings and workshops.
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with program staff and partners.
-Knowledge of TVET system in Palestine is a plus.
-Knowledge of ICT sector in Palestine is a plus.
-Excellent communication and time management skills.
-Excellent planning and administration skills.
