World Vision Jerusalem-West Bank-Gaza is seeking a:
Program Director
The successful candidate will:
1-Provide leadership to the Programs Department and field teams in accordance with the mission and values of World Vision
2-Assist the National Director in articulating a strategic vision and plan for the program that builds on the strengths of the team and ministry, responds to the needs of the target population, and achieves defined goals.
3-Maintain overall management responsibility for specific government grants, sponsorship
implementation and all programs.
4-Identify new needs and formulate program ideas and strategies as well as new interventions and coordination with other local partners
5-Assist the National Director in maintaining a good relationship with local government, local NGO partners, donors, international NGOs, NGO networks and the international community.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Masters degree in a development-related field or a first-level university degree in a related field with substantial relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, a minimum of 2 years of which must have been in a supervisory role
- Ability to identify key strategic issues, opportunities and risks; clearly communicate links between WVJWG’s strategy and the work unit’s goals
- Demonstrated innovative technical leadership in performing and/or overseeing the planning, development, and management of programs/projects, including design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
- Proven understanding of the guiding principles of project finance management
- Experience in the development of program/project management systems
- Strong leadership skills, initiative, and a sincere commitment to Transformational Development
- Proven record of building and managing teams and creating an enabling work environment, including the ability to effectively lead, supervise, mentor, develop, and evaluate staff
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment, with sensitivity and respect for diversity, including gender balance
- Understanding of and experience in the local context, including knowledge of NGO sector
- Ability to liaise with donor representatives and senior officials with tact and diplomacy
- Demonstrated sound judgment in applying technical expertise to resolve a range of issues/problems
- Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic
- Effective communication skills, including excellent report and proposal writing skills
- Negotiation skills and influence
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Honesty and strong commitment to World Vision’s mission, ethos, and values
- Position is based in Jerusalem
