Program Description
UNDT is planning to launch a new training program in software engineering and computer coding, primarily targeting the growing demand in East Jerusalem. The 2-years program will allow participants to acquire the skills needed to become (full-stack) programmers. In addition, the program will offer modules in humanities, languages and basic management skills. The program plans to connect program participants with relevant companies in the industry, offering both potential support with the programs fees and potential job prospects after graduation.
The program will start with its first cohort in October 2022; and will run at the premises of UNDT in Jerusalem. Program graduates will receive a (no-degree) certificate of completion from the University of Notre Dame. The language of instruction will be in English.
Job Summary:
The University seeks an experienced, dependable and efficient individual with well developed, analytical and management skills to join the founding team of the program, to lead the planning, designing and execution of the program. The Program Manager is a senior position who is expected to hire and lead a growing team, and will directly report to the Executive Director of UNDT.
III. Key Responsibilities
Leading all aspects to set up and launch the program:
- Detail the implementation plan for the program and be responsible for its execution
- Lead the marketing efforts for launching the program, including working with marketing agencies and conducting marketing events
- Lead - in concert with University colleagues in Jerusalem and main campus (South Bend, Indiana) – the detailing of the program, including curriculum, roaster of lecturers, schedule, recruitment process, handbook etc.
- Take ownership over the program budget, and ensure financial targets are met
- Ensure – in concert with other colleagues – that classrooms are physically prepared (with the proper hardware equipment etc.)
- Lead the application and evaluation processes
- Coordinate the implementation of any needed software
Leading all program operations after launch:
- Manage the daily operations of the program
- Lead a team of 3-5 colleagues, including coordinators, marketing experts, and IT support experts, and be the first-point-of-contact for all potential instructors and program partners
- Ensure a well-functioning and inclusive learning environment
- Be an advisor to the program participants on academic and extra-curricular topics
- Continue to lead and develop the relationships with the different industry partners
- Continue to lead and develop the marketing efforts of the program
- Ensure compliance with all data protection laws and works within all relevant legal frameworks
- Report on the program's performance to the Executive Director

IV Selection Criteria
- Proven experience and track record in managing (intensive) educational programs
- Knowledge and experience in software engineering and/or computer programming/coding or a related area
- Fluent English proficiency required, Arabic proficiency is an asset, Hebrew proficiency is an asset
- Excellent project management and coordination skills
- Experience with budget and financial planning is an asset
- An interest in education and a purpose-driven approach
- High integrity and commitment to developing and sustaining relationships with a diverse community
- Ability to work flexible, and sometimes long, hours
- BA degree required, MA degree is an asset
