Save the Children is seeking qualified candidate to fulfill the following vacancies in its Gaza Office:
    

 

 2 Program Officers- Position#: (PO/GZ/2015)

Contract Duration: 8 months

Main Responsibilities:
-Participate in  the planning and design, and implementation of all project activities, with other project staff and project partners, within the project context and in line with implementation plan and the budget line items
-Preparing, reviewing the engineering design, and bids documents for WASH and rehabilitation work and provide technical support to SC staff and partner.
-Support needed assessments in coordination with other SC team and partners
-Assist the SC team in any other tasks and duties required , requested and approved by Gaza Senior Program Manager
-Assist in Development of project M&E plane.
-Follows up, drafts, and ensures submission of all reports required from partners, contractors, and site engineer within the developed monitoring systems, on time (per deadline).
-Participates actively in the overall project monitoring and evaluation process in coordination with the project partners
-Actively participates in the regular meetings with supervisors, partners
-Follow day by day the implementation of the project activities.
-Preparing monitoring reports (technical and financial) for submission to donors according to timelines agreed upon and procedures.
-Facilitate that reports of activities and materials to be delivered are sent on time, as required by specific dates and deadlines, communicating them in advance to the staff in charge.
-Support the adequate filing for the entire project documentation.
-Submits regular and timely report to the Infrastructure Unit Manger
-Works closely with the partners, project stakeholders and communities at the field level.
-Assists in the preparation for any field visits requested for visitors  
-Communicates effectively with the Save the Children project team members, other staff of Save the Children, and project partners and communities

Qualifications and Experience:
-BA degree in civil engineering..
-5 years’ experience of working in Livelihood, WASH, and rehabilitation projects in oPt, project management, and implementation through local partners.
-Experience of and commitment to working through systems of children and community participation and accountability.
-Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation and reporting of project results.
-Knowledge of institutional donors and experience of developing proposals.
-Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Fluent in Arabic and a high level of written and spoken English.
-The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
-Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
