Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory and Lebanon

We are recruiting for a Programme Assistant to Support the implementation and monitoring of the MAP’s medical projects in West Bank, including Jerusalem, in particular, MAP’s emergency response projects.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

Proven experience in the health sector with good skills in the monitoring of health-related projects.
Experience with an NGO/ INGO in a similar function is desirable.
Relative background in health, project monitoring, reporting and coordination is essential.
Field work across the West Bank is required in this position.

Skills and abilities

Organized self-starter, able to work alone or as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and under difficult circumstances and occasionally during the weekend
Respect/follow the applied security guidelines and keep the confidentiality of assigned tasks

Knowledge

Good communication and writing skills in English and Arabic.
Competent IT skills including excel and spreadsheets, and word.

Education/training

Bachelor degree in managment or health science/health administration or any other related.
Personal attributes and other requirements
Tact, polite, and able to handle difficult situations and solve the problem.
Valid driving license and excellent awareness of traffic and road safety laws. familiar with different areas of West Bank. Incumbent will be required to drive to site visits.
Understand the work of MAP and commitment to our mission and services.

Under the direction of the Medical Programme Manager, you will work closely with MAP’s partners to ensure timely implementation and proper monitoring of MAP’s medical projects in West Bank. You must have proven experience in the health sector with good skills in the monitoring of health-related projects. Field work across the West Bank is required in this.
