Programme Coordinator Arts, English and School Education, Occupied Palestinian Territories based in Jerusalem
Role Purpose
Supports the Cultural Engagement team in the Occupied Palestinian Territories with the implementation of programmes and projects in the Arts and English and School Education across Palestine in compliance with British Council policies and procedures including financial admin, reporting and data collection, operational project delivery, communications and managing relations with delivery partners. This role is based in Jerusalem but will require regular travel to Ramallah.
Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:
Financial Support
- Plan and report on project financial plans and budget expenditure and forecasting to Programme Managers and Head of Programme Delivery; manage smaller budgets.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date records on all financial transactions as per audit requirements.
- Ensure relationships with vendors are maintained and payments are processed on time and in accordance with FABS on-line system (SAP Finance) guidelines.
- Compliance with BC financial policies and procedures.
Project Management
- Responsible for data management including timely data entry, quality assurance of data, undertaking basic analysis of monitoring data, and developing progress reports to meet needs of funders.
- Supports internal compliance such as due diligence, records management, data collection, and storage.
- Manages grants administration, selection & evaluation, and procurement processes.
- Manages events-based components and training within a programme.
- Supports the project / programme manager in implementing diversity mainstreaming action plans and contributes to it.
Relationship and Stakeholder Management
- Manages relationships with clients/partners/stakeholders at appropriate level.
- Manages relationships with vendors and suppliers and holds them to account for delivering services.

Role-specific knowledge and experience:
Essential requirements:

University degree or equivalent
-
Experience working in a supporting role on programmes or projects.

Administrative and financial administration experience.
-
Good understanding of basic concepts of monitoring and evaluation, and how they are central to good project management.
Desirable:
- An interest in arts and culture and a basic understanding of the sector in Palestine.
- An interest in education and understanding of the sector in Palestine.
- Experience supporting with communications: drafting text/content for website, social media, press and marketing materials, preparing newsletters, etc.

Language requirements: Arabic (fluent) and strong written and oral English communication skills.

The Role holder will be expected to travel to Ramallah regularly.
Working hours will depend on programme activities and may require occasional work in the evening or over the weekend. -
The Role holder must have existing rights to live and work in the country the role is based.
