Background:
FAO coordination office for the West Bank and Gaza Strip (WBGS) is launching a set of new developmental and humanitarian projects in the WBGS. In order to strengthen its technical team in the implementation of the project, particularly those related to the drafting and production of programme specific information and communication materials, targeting donors, government, NGOs, other UN organizations and most importantly the targeted communities; FAO is planning to recruit a highly competent and motivated national Programme Information and Communications Associate.
Description of Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Head of Office, and the direct supervision of the FAO Reporting, Communications and Advocacy Officer, the Programme Information and Communications Associate will carry out the following tasks:
Develop information and communication materials related to FAO programming in the WBGS. This includes thematic briefs and brochures, regular newsletters, consolidation of technical papers, press statements, etc;
Liaise with the technical team and conducts field visits as needed in order to collect and document programmatic success stories, best practices and lessons learnt;
Assist in the consolidating information materials to serve the formulation of new project concepts and documents;
As required, attend internal and external programme meetings and develop, disseminate and maintain minutes and records of these meetings;
Draft programme-specific information materials in close consultation with Food Security Unit, programme staff, and WBGS management team;
Perform other duties as and when required.

Qualifications :
Education:
University degree in communications, development studies, international relations, or in any field related to FAO’s work.
Experience:
-At least 3 years of proven experience in drafting and producing information and communications materials and reports, in both English and Arabic languages;
-Proven experience in being an efficient and motivated team player.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in both spoken and written English and Arabic languages.
Other: Excellent reporting and communication skills. Advanced working knowledge of standard computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, etc. Design skills and knowledge of Adobe CS are considered an advantage.
