Contract: 12 Months Fixed-Term

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team. 

MAP is seeking a Programme Lead who will be responsible for  leading the development and management of Medical Programmes in Gaza, devising strategies, overseeing project design, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The role involves providing technical guidance, monitor program quality, and foster staff development. Additionally, the Programme Lead will collaborate with partners and authorities to achieve program objectives and uphold MAP's values of equity and gender justice.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Programme Manager/Technical Specialist in humanitarian and recovery contexts, with a strong track record in managing and expanding medical programmes in complex humanitarian emergencies. They should possess a deep understanding of program management, including the ability to design, implement, and evaluate multi-sectoral programmes while ensuring compliance with humanitarian principles and donor requirements.

The candidate must demonstrate technical leadership, experience in team capacity building, and the ability to foster collaboration with external stakeholders and partners. A clear understanding of Protection Mainstreaming (Safe & Inclusive Programming) and expertise in designing relevant assessments, including multi-sectoral needs assessments, are also essential. Additionally, they should be familiar with international guidelines and protocols, such as Sphere, HAP Standards, and the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), to ensure high-quality and impactful programme delivery.
