The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) brings internationals to the West Bank to experience life under occupation. Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) provide a protective presence to vulnerable communities, monitor and report human rights abuses and support Palestinians and Israelis working together for peace. When they return home, EAs campaign for a just and peaceful resolution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict through an end to the occupation, respect for international law and implementation of UN resolutions.
As part of a UNICEF-funded project, EAPPI is developing an intranet for monitoring, training, sharing information, collaboration, knowledge management and advocacy. The focus on children’s rights and grave violations against children is a priority in all aspects of our work.
In view of this, EAPPI is seeking a programmer to design an intranet for the needs of diverse users and a complex structure
-Staff in the field (documenting work, sharing information)
-Office staff (monitoring work, e-learning, managing knowledge, sharing information)
-Global staff (monitoring advocacy, collaboration, sharing knowledge)
The CMS software to be used will be Drupal, e.g. Open Atrium.
Responsibilities and Qualifications of the applicant
Criteria & Qualifications:
-Relevant IT-diploma
-Experience with planning and building intranets
-Experience with Drupal, preferably with Open Atrium
-Preferably work-experiences with iNGOs in the context of Human Rights
-Excellent communication skills in English, oral and written
-Good communications and interpersonal skills
-Self-motivated, proactive and organized, transparent working style
-Ability to strictly observe given deadlines
-Ability to travel to Jerusalem
Responsibilities:
-Assists in conducting needs analysis for the development of an intranet
-Designs and develops the intranet in cooperation with the Research Officer
-implements innovative software applications for
Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation
E-learning
Advocacy
-Ensures the integrity and security of highly sensitive data
-Integrates with other systems (CRM, e-mail, other applications)
-Creates necessary technical and architectural documentation
-Trains staff on the use of the system
-Provides support for one year
