Programs Director

The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem (Anglican Church) serves the people of the Middle East, through its parishes and institutions, is looking for a Programs Director. The Programs Director will oversee the development of its programs and communication department. The director will have a proven ability in the fields of development; including programing and communications. The Programs director will be required to travel throughout the region.

The Successful candidate will be able

- develop a regional strategy for the Diocesan Institutions and the Programs Department;
- work in collaboration with the Institutions to provide periodic plans and reports;
- ensure the Institutions achieve their long and short term objectives;
- identification and assessment of new program opportunities
- identify funding opportunities and ensure donor compliance and reporting;
- train and develop of program staff both in Institutions and Programs Department;
- in close collaboration with the Finance Department develop and/or approve budgets
- supervise the communication and visibility component of the programs and projects
- ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies;
- supervise the personnel within the team;
- keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations;
ensure Diocesan Institutions and the Diocesan Office are compliant with relevant policies including child safeguarding.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- University degree at least MA degree or relevant experience;
- An experienced Senior Manager/Program Director within a development context;
- Excellent language skills in English and Arabic reading and writing, reporting skills. Other languages are an asset;
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks;
- Ability to lead a team and work with other teams;
- Excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills (both oral and written);
- Knowledge of humanitarian and development needs;
- Capacity to combine field and office work;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment;
- A valid driving license and ability to travel throughout the Diocese and overseas.
