Welfare Association (WA) is a private, non profit foundation established in 1983 to support Palestinian society in sustainable development and humanitarian assistance. As a leading non-governmental Palestinian organization, WA is dedicated to providing appropriate services to the Palestinian people, responding to the needs and challenges faced by Palestinian communities. In particular, in the Gaza Strip, WA is carrying out program based projects to strengthen the services provided by NGOs to the community at large. Within this context, WA wishes to hire Programs and Projects Support Coordinator to work in as follows:
Job Description:
Department : Program Operations’ Department
Job Title: Programs Support Coordinator
Reports To: Gaza Area Manager
Location: Gaza
Purpose of Position: Assist in the administrative and financial management of the “Gaza” program and its projects of relevance
Responsibilities & Duties.
In accordance with established WA policies & regulations:
1-Supervises all the financial cycle related to programs and projects, starting from approved grant amount to disbursement control and close up.
2-Conducts filed visits to assess the financial capacity of the beneficiaries.
3-Assists Area Manager in preparing the budget of Gaza Office and monitor its expenditures.
4-Prepares programs and projects cash flow.
5-Assists program managers and project coordinators in preparing related financial and technical reports.
6-Coordinates and reconcile all financial balances with the finance manager of Program Operation’s Department.
7-Participates in managing financial data base related to programs and projects.
8-Conducts the financial data base entries, prepare all financial reports and highlight deviations
9-Reviews all GIAs and ensure that all supporting documentation are attached to project contracts and payments along with recipient’s financial compliance with GIA.
10-Reviews all beneficiaries’ payment requests according to WA procedures.
11-Safeguards related files and documents.
12-Participates in developing the management information system.
13-Provides oversight and guidance, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls. Ensures integrity, suitability, accuracy and timelines of internal information systems.
14-Plans and manages any required external and internal audits.
15-Assists the Area Manager in all administrative matters pertaining to the employees (personnel related) and project implementation (procurement, IT, related services).
Managerial and Professional Qualifications:
-A university degree in Management or a related field, in addition to sufficient knowledge and experience in finance.
-At least (3) Years of experience in related fields.
-Strong Project Management skills and experience including planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, and time management.
-Ability to work within and contribute to a team and to produce results under pressure and tight deadlines.
-Fluency in Arabic and English languages, reading & writing.
-Good public relations and communication skills.
-Good command of computer applications.
