The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable
development with worldwide operations. GTZ promotes complex reforms and change processes. Its corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis.
In the context of German-Palestinian Technical Cooperation, GTZ has been commissioned by the
German Government to implement the second phase of the

German Government to implement the second phase of the
“Private Sector Development Program (PSDP)“
To support the Program Team at the German House for Development Cooperation in Al-Bireh, we are looking for a
“Project Advisor”
ملاحظة هامة: هذه الوظيفة تتطلب درجة الماجستير و5 سنوات خبرة على الاقل
for the management and coordination of specific interventions within the program.
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
-Detailed design, management and implementation of program activities;
-Responsible for the implementation of a sub-component work stream, specifically but not exclusively the program of activities with the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture
and their Federation;
-Responsible for management of staff and for relationships with designated partner institutions, a
progressively increasing scope of responsibilities is envisaged, including budget responsibility;
-Advising partner institutions in addition to assisting in the preparation of technical reports;
-Management and supervision of local and international expert assignments;
-Work with the PSDP team in Gaza to ensure good alignment of relevant work in the West Bank and
Gaza, as well as with the PSDP team in the West Bank to ensure smooth implementation;
-Coordination with other relevant agencies and organizations working with joint partners;
-Support to the program team-leader in overall program management and administration.
Required qualifications:
-Masters degree in the fields of business, business administration, economics or equivalent;
-At least 5 years of professional experience in working in the Palestinian private sector or a private
sector association or with international organizations in the fields of private sector development;
-Specific knowledge of service provision to SMEs and organizational development and promotion
of gender equality in economic development an asset;
-Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written), knowledge of German is an asset;
-Good experience in staff management, ability to coordinate and motivate interdisciplinary teams;
-Experience in financial planning, monitoring and budget responsibility an asset;
-Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;
-Negotiation skills, flexibility, good team player;
-Computer literacy.
Assignment: Starting 1. April 2010, negotiable.
