Project Associates position

This advertisement seeks applications from recent IT graduates of Diploma or Bachelor programs, to join a team working on an Educational Management Information System (EMIS).  The EMIS program will be implemented throughout UNRWA in five regions. 

Promising applicants will take a test to measure their skills level on the required skills such as data entry in English, Arabic, spreadsheet analysis skills, Data Base management.

Short-listed candidates will be called for interview in English. Approximately 12 candidates will undergo several weeks of training.  A team of up to 6 members (including one Team Leader) will be selected at the end of training.  Project Associates will receive ongoing workplace training, to complement their work.  

Team members will work fulltime for up to one year as EMISProject Associates.EMIS Project work is expected to continue beyond that time, in the form of a sub-contracted project under the management of a Gazan company.  Therefore, during their work, candidates should expect to move from UNRWA to a private sector employer.

Please note:  these are not UNRWA staff positions, with no UNRWA staff benefits.  This project is part of the pilot phase of a planned social enterprise, not an UNRWA program. 

Successful candidates will be:
-Recent diploma or university graduates, 2011, 2012, and 2013 graduating classes only.
-Gazan residents, not currently employed.
-Interested in long-term work doing data cleansing and data entry, and providing system implementation support.
-Where there are two or more equally qualified candidates, selection preference will be given to Palestine Refugees, and candidates of the under-represented gender.
-Thorough, systematic workers; attentive to detail and customer service.
-Good speakers of English, with excellent and accurate data entry in English and Arabic.
