Project Coordinator
The Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ), the Economic and Social Development Center
(ESDC) are seeking to fill the position of fulltime committed project coordinator to coordinate the
implementation of a joint humanitarian program in partnership with the Swedish Cooperative Centre (SCC) in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The project coordinator work location will be based in the ESDC Office, Ramallah.
Duties of Project Coordinator:
-Coordinate among ESDC, ARIJ and SCC project managers, and lead the program’simplementation process in a strategic approach;
-Conduct 50% of his/her time at project sites;
-Develop and maintain a detailed implementation and action plan for the project in coordination with the program managers and other project team members;
-Develop a project implementation manual and documentation system that fits with partners and SCC procedures and systems - to be applied by all the project staff;
-Coordinate and monitor project implementation on the ground in coordination with other technical staff and M&E officers from ESDC and ARIJ;
-Prepare and submit weekly work plans and periodical reports as requested by SCC in consultation with ARIJ/ESDC program managers;
-Conduct regular meetings with project field officers and follow up the project’s progress, challenges and achievements;
-Actively participate in different project monitoring activities and coordinate for M&E and other required visits to the project locations;
-Assists in organizing project monitoring forums, and represent in coordination (and other) meetings and events and follow up resultant recommendations;
-Ensure effective coordination of the project with related stakeholders, partner organizations, and project staff as well as project local committees;
-Monitor budget follow up and expenditures feasibly, including payments’ cycle;
-Develop technical specifications and ToRS and prepare all procurement documents for bidding the project inputs jointly with related staffs and participate in the bidding process;
-Ensure the commitment of the project beneficiaries to their responsibilities based on the conditions in the agreements signed;
-Participate in resolving conflicts or solving obstacles facing project implementation on different levels;
-Any other related tasked assigned by ESDC and ARIJ program managers/director.
Qualifications:
-A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, management or other related fields;
-Minimum five years of professional experience in project coordination, especially in humanitarian projects with the main focus on agriculture and food security;
-Excellent in both English & Arabic written and oral communication skills;
-Very good reporting skills with good knowledge of Results Based Management and LFA;
-Advanced knowledge of MS Office and computer applications;
-Willing to travel and work in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem;
-Serious, trustworthy, disciplined, enjoys team work and responsible for the accuracy and timeless of work;
-Valid driving license is required.
