Position Title: Project Coordinator
Location: Gaza Strip
Report to: Program Manager
Duration: One Year with the possibility of extension
Working hours: 40 hours/week, Sun-Thu (5 days per week)
MA’AN Development Center is an independent Palestinian non-profit organization, established in Jerusalem in January 1989. Relying on a human rights-based approach, community partnerships, and active participation, MA’AN work to enhance the resilience, empowerment, and realization of the rights of those most in need, the poor and marginalized groups and individuals, as well as unleash their latent capacities to enhance their active participation in sustainable development and their abilities to respond to and recover from crises.
Ma’an in partnership with Humanity and Inclusion (HI) implements a project entitled “Young parents in Gaza: a multisector approach towards resilience” (funded by the Federal German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project objective is: to increase the resilience of young parents of children with specific needs to the socio-economic consequences of the prolonged crisis in Gaza.
The expected results:
- Improve the capacity of young parents to understand and manage their children's specific needs, with the increased role of male parents and positive coping mechanisms.
- young parents have improved access to and utilization of food
- young parents have strengthened the resilience of existing businesses and have access to alternative income-generating opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting the Program Manager in implementing the project Activities in accordance with the project proposal and budget.
- Project management and implementation by defining and following up project methodologies, work-plan, and MEAL plan.
- Assisting with the MEAL department to monitor and report by ensuring the alignment of developed data collection tools to the documentation of indicators and measurement of progress made and collecting data as per the framework defined and contributing to its analysis.
- Preparing procurement plan/tracker along with budget forecasts as well as following up on the project cash flow with and through the Finance Department.
- Preparing quotations, tenders, and terms of reference (TOR) with and through the Logistics Department.
- Team Management by ensuring and coordination within the team (intra-team management) and with other project teams (inter-team-management) and ensuring that operational, administrative & logistics procedures are respected by project staff.
- Conduct field visits to the beneficiaries and provide the management with reports and recommendations.
- Supervise, follow up, and monitor the process of selecting the beneficiaries.
- Writing narrative and financial reports: progress Reports, quarterly and annual reports.
- Responsible for preparing the success stories, testimonies, media coverage, and project documentation.
- Liaising with and answering inquiries from media, individuals, and other organizations and representing Ma’an in meetings, conferences, workshops, cluster meetings, and others.
- Acting as the project focal point between Ma’an and the project donor and partners.

- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, or related fields and equivalent work experience;
- At least 3 years’ experience in the related field, preferably in disability, protection, and economic empowerment sectors like Business Development;
- At least 3 years’ experience in Projects Management/Coordination
- Excellent written and spoken Arabic & English,
- Writing and reporting skills;
- Knowledge of conceptual project management and M&E tools
- Excellent written and spoken in English.
- MS Office literacy (especially Word and Excel);
