Project Coordinator for Economic Development

Introduction to CRIC

The CRIC - Regional Intervention Center for Cooperation is an Italian non-governmental organization, non-profit, established in 1983 with the aim of supporting "South-South" cooperation based on the sharing of resources, positive values, and experiences, in a perspective of mutual exchange between Southern Italy and the South of the World.

Over the years, it has implemented programs in Italy and abroad (Middle East, Mediterranean, Balkans, Latin America), aimed at promoting autonomous, solidarity-based, and sustainable local development, agroecology, food sovereignty, solidarity economy, and social participation. In certain areas, such initiatives have also been accompanied by humanitarian aid for populations affected by severe environmental or war crises, but always privileging a non-welfare-based approach to aid.

In Palestine, CRIC is currently implementing the project "Li-Biladina (to our land) - Sustainable Agriculture, Dignified Work, and Heritage Recovery for the Resilience of Communities in the West Bank" funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.

Key Responsibilities

The project coordinator will be responsible to plan and coordinate the coaching work for field workers responsible of supporting the creation of MSMEs. S/he will support experts of the Value Chain study and organize its dissemination among target audiences. S/he will define the contents and carry out the entrepreneurial training and awareness-raising events, s/he will prepare the necessary information to be submitted to the Project Management Committee for grants selection. The coordinator will prepare all narrative and financial information related to microenterprises development activities, and work closely with the Inclusion Coordinator to ensure that all information and training materials are inclusive and accessible to persons with disabilities. Finally, will support the existing social enterprises, CBOs, cooperatives, and rehabilitation centers in the target areas in order to improve their capabilities.

Specifically:

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor ongoing MSMEs development project activities in collaboration and under the supervision of the Program Manager
  • Plan and coordinate the training work of field staff to support MSMEs creation and development
  • Support experts responsible for Value Chain studies and organize the dissemination of the results among the beneficiaries
  • Develop and organize the training sessions to be realized in the different project activities, defining the content and carrying out entrepreneurial training and awareness-raising events
  • Prepare the necessary technical information and studies on the selected MSMEs to be submitted to the Project Management Committee for Grant selection
  • Prepare all narrative and financial information material related to the economic development activities
  • Work closely with the Inclusion Coordinator in order to guarantee that all the information, materials, and locations of the training sessions are accessible to PwDs
  • Follow up on the creation of the MSMEs in the targeted areas in the Governatorates of Ramallah and Hebron
  • Support the PM in mainstreaming project activities and results among donors and stakeholders;
  • Mobilize and network with the partners and the key stakeholders for the implementation the strategic economic development component of the project
  • Monitor and supervise the project’s strategic activities implemented by the local partners which contribute to the development of the MSMEs
  • Be the focal point for the MEAL of project activities related to the MSMEs development
  • Participate in networking and coordination activities involving different stakeholders such as local authorities and the private sector
  • Report continuously to the Program Manager on the status of implementation of the activities
  • Prepare the financial and narrative reports on activities implementation, and the internal monthly project activities report
  • Maintain a high level of collaboration and coordination with all CRIC staff and with the local partners
  • Coordinate with the Logistic Officer and Administration Officer in order ensure that all the activities implementation are complying with the donor requirements and procedures.

Functional Links

  • Work in close collaboration with local partner organizations, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders
  • Cooperate with the Program Manager both in the same and across project’s domains, and with the Administration Officer.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economic development or a related field, master degree would be an asset

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role

  • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic

  • Fluency in English and proficiency in relevant computer applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Availability and willingness to conduct field visits regularly

  • Valid driving license
