Position Title: Project Coordinator with Business Development Background

ABOUT MA’AN:
MA’AN Development Center is an independent Palestinian non-profit organization, established in Jerusalem in January 1989. Relying on a human rights-based approach, community partnerships, and active participation, MA’AN works to enhance the resilience, empowerment, and realization of the rights of those most in need, the poor and marginalized groups and individuals, as well as unleash their latent capacities to enhance their active participation in sustainable development and their abilities to respond to and recover from crises.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
MA’AN Development Center has been implementing a project entitled “Promoting Sustainable Jobs for Youth through Self-Employment”, funded by Enabel - Belgium Development Agency. The project aims at enhancing youth capacities and opportunities to access inclusive and sustainable self-employment opportunities. In addition, it supports equipping vulnerable young females and males with resilience skills by applying inclusive, gender-sensitive, and environmentally friendly strategies. The target areas include the West Bank & Gaza Strip.
THE MAIN ROLE & TASK OF The PROJECT COORDINATOR:
To support the implementation of the SMEs, business development activities, and working with the SMEs. The post-holder is a local staff who will be based in Hebron.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Assisting in mapping activities to identify prospective economic sectors and promising livelihood opportunities to intervene in.
- Developing selection criteria matrixes for SMEs, youth-led businesses, and other beneficiaries like interns and apprentices.
- Coordinate the training program on entrepreneurship and green economy.
- Holding group coaching sessions on Market System Analysis with a focus on the predetermined sectors.
- Organize a Bootcamp in the south of WB.
- Coordinating and facilitating startups incubation services including training, mentoring, and seed funding.
- Supporting vulnerable youth, selecting and developing their business plans and operating a business.
- Designing and customizing the business assessment tools and other relevant tools.
- Conducting business assessments for potential SMEs, workshops, and companies.
- Supporting in designing and implementing the SMEs’ business development plans.
- Working with the Project Manager and MA’AN’s specialist to ensure adequate and efficient implementation of the interventions.
- Delivering and/or facilitating training to targeted youth and private sector employers to improve operation and production.
- Facilitating collective livelihood models where youth can capitalize on their collective power to access better economic opportunities.
- Ensuring the accountable provision of the business support package to the employers of SMEs in targeted sub-sectors.
- Providing vulnerable youth in the south of West Bank with training on 21st-century skills.
- Providing vulnerable youth with credit facilitation services including information sharing and credit coaching.
- Working closely and in full harmony with the project manager and technical team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to the project beneficiaries and building feasible and sustainable business models.
- Cooperate with MA’AN MEAL department to ensure proper implementation of the project-related monitoring and evaluation activities through data collection and documentation.
- Supporting in developing progress and final narrative reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or any other related fields (master’s degree is a plus).
- At least 3 years of directly related experience in in the field of business development & economic empowerment for youth, and SMEs experience preferred.
- Deep understanding and strong knowledge of economic empowerment principles & models and local market requirements and constraints.
- Deep Knowledge in Agri-business and Industrial sectors in the oPt.
- Highly organized, reliable, attention to detail, and ability to work independently when needed.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners, and donors.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and multi-task.
- MS Office literacy (especially Word and Excel).
- Good in both English & Arabic languages including both written and verbal communication skills.
