Project Coordinator
governmental organization launched in 2009 to strive to have positive impact on the education sector. AFKAR has become one of the bellwethers which touches the educational and cultural needs of children, teachers and other main school staff in the Palestinian schools and universities in addition to the school hard component development.
Since its establishment, AFKAR has been focusing on the holistic approach of the educational process to encourage and boost the development of its beneficiaries’ physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs via enhancing a positive learning environment where they can develop their skills, knowledge, values and attitudes.
Under the overall administrative leadership and supervision of AFKAR’s Director General and the direct supervision of project Manager, the Project coordinator in Jenin oversees the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the oPt HF project CBPF-OPT-23-S-NGO-24672. His/her role will involve conducting field visits to the Jenin 4 UNRWA’s refugee camp schools, coordinating with principals, partners, ensuring project progress, and providing technical guidance and support. Additionally, the coordinator will facilitate AFKAR’s hard and soft components intervention, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders and organizations involved. This is a dynamic role that requires strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for driving program quality and effectiveness.
Position in the organization
The project coordinator directly reports to the project manager and collaborate with AFKAR’s staff regularly and also plays a key liaison with other organizations’ oPt HF funded -projects.
Additional job responsibilities:
In addition to the result areas above, the Project Coordinator remains flexible to take on different assignments in support of the AFKAR’s overall country office programs.
Knowledge and Experience
- Preferably to have Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. social development, social sciences, etc.).
- Minimum 3 years in the field of Education and program implementation in coordination level
- Proven experience in project coordination, monitoring, and implementation within the development or humanitarian sector.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Education/Child Protection/MHPSS programming principles and best practices, particularly in the context of development or humanitarian settings.
- Familiarity with MEAL processes and donor reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Safeguarding (CSG) protocols.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in challenging conditions if required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic.

Contract
The duration of the contract is 6 months with the intention to extend depending on performance and fund availability.
