Palestinian Food & Agriculture Industries Union
The Palestinian Food and Agriculture Industries Union (PFAIU), established in 1995 and re-registered under No. IA/000104/08, and currently represents 300 company members. PFAIU conducts several activities aimed at promoting and improving locally made products, offering management and marketing skills training, and providing assistance for company members in opening export markets.
PFAIU core activities focus on organizing exports, facilitating market access, defending the interests of the food industry, fostering partnerships and networking, promoting occupational health and safety, promoting green practices and strengthening the Union's internal structure. PFAIU continues to address the promotion of sustainable practices. Looking ahead, PFAIU aims to lead transformative change and create opportunities within the food industry, ensuring its long-term viability and prosperity within the Palestinian economy. PFAIU decided to lead projects aligned with the Green and Circular Economy (GCE), promoting inclusivity and innovation as one of the top sector priorities.
The Palestinian Food & Agriculture Industries Union Sector is the largest industrial sector as measured by the most important indicators on which any country is based to measure the economic capacity of the industrial sectors.
The sector is trying all the way to contribute to environmental protection efforts. To take advantage of Food waste, “Food waste“as well as reduce the environmental impact.
The project aims to drive a sustainable transformation in the food industry. It is implemented by the Palestinian Food & Agriculture Industries Union (PFAIU) in cooperation with the Belgian Development Agency (Enable) and is funded by the government of Belgium as part of the Green West Bank intervention. The project aligns with Enable’s strategic focus on promoting a green and circular economy while enforcing the region’s ecological and social resilience.
Through this collaboration, the following objectives will be pursued:
General Objective:
To contribute to supporting the Green and circular economy and entrepreneurship in the Food value chain based on a market system approach.
Specific objective:
To support the utilization of Green Circular Economy practices within the Food value chain, focusing on the sectors of waste management practices, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency practices, and lobbying and enforcement of related regulatory frameworks.

Scope of work
Under the supervision of the PFAIU’s General Manager, the project coordinator's role is to track project activities and outputs against plans and ensure that the project is implemented effectively and achieves its intended outcomes. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will contribute to the project’s accountability to stakeholders, ensuring that lessons learned are captured and applied to improve project performance, planning and implementation of project activities, and ensures the quality delivery of the project objectives.
The key responsibilities for this position will be as follows:
- Coordinate and oversee all project activities in collaboration with the project team and relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project objectives and budget.
- Prepare and write periodic and final reports for the project in both Arabic and English according to the requirements of project funders and partner institutions.
- Lead the comprehensive management of the project lifecycle, including proposal writing, planning, partner management, monitoring and evaluation, resource and budget management, and other administrative tasks.
- Prepare and organize all logistics requirements for project activities in collaboration with the team.
- Follow office workflow procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Ensure the project continues to progress according to its scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Maintain files and records within the current filing system.
- Coordinate with the other functions at PFAIU regarding project implementation issues such as procurement and technical matters.
- Represent the PFAIU in meetings with project partners and provide feedback to assist in making the right decisions.
- Conduct field visits to supervise and monitor projects’ activities.
- Review the project financial and administrative reports and monitor the project budget.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- BA degree in Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Development, or related fields.
Experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in working with development projects and programs, preferably in international aid-funded projects,
- Experience in food industries sector is preferable.
- Demonstrated leadership and strong management skills, with experience in managing multidisciplinary development programs and budgets.
- Excellent Report writing in English and Arabic
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Highly committed, able to work under pressure, adapt to new situations, and address shortcomings.
- Mature work practices, high motivation, and ability to make sound decisions.
- Strong team management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and competence to work within a team.
- Ability to work in various locations and handle work pressure in accordance with program requirements.
- Experience working with non-governmental organizations.
- Experience providing remote supervision and coaching
