GIZ Open Regional Fund ( ORF ) Program is looking for a
Project Coordinator for Jenin Tourism Development (60%)
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
-Implementation of the project’s work plan, in cooperation with ORF and the Jenin Steering Committee (SC)
-Ensuring coordination between ORF and tourism stakeholders in Jenin
-Management of project activities
Tasks
-Implements the project’s work plan, in cooperation with ORF and the Jenin Steering Committee (SC)
-Coordinates and prepares work meetings for and with GIZ ORF, Jenin Steering Committee, tourism stakeholders in Jenin, international and national consultants
-Works on the establishment of the Jenin tourist office (procurement, coordination with Ministry of Tourism, preparation of material)
-Works on the implementation of a tour guide training for Jenin and the Northern Westbank (coordination with training institution and Ministry of Tourism, selection process of attendeese, etc.)
-Supports ORF and Jenin SC with the development and implementation of tourist programmes (data collection, contacting tour operators in Jenin and abroad, etc.)
-Coordinates with Jenin SC and ORF and other involved parties the development of three sites and needed infrastructure (data collection, preparation of contracts, etc.)
-Coordinates the installation of directional signs, attraction signs and maps
-Coordinates drafting and printing of tourist material (brochures, flyers, etc.)
Required qualifications:
-BA/BSc, preferably in project management, tourism or public relations
-3-5 years experience working in project management, preferably in the tourism sector
-in-depth knowledge of accounting software
-high-level project management, communication and networking skills
-confidential handling of data and information
-native Arabic speaker, very good knowledge of English
-position is based in Ramallah with frequent travel to Jenin or vice versa
Assignment: Starting June 2014.
