MA’AN is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January 1989, and registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is in Ramallah and the other branch offices are in Gaza and Jenin. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment, MA’AN Development Center is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Engineer:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Follow up the project field activities and ensure compliance with the quality and accountability standards.
- Supervising construction sites, WASH facilities and repair/maintenance works to ensure compliance with plans, safety standards, and local regulations.
- Coordinating activities of workers and subcontractors to ensure efficient project progress.
- Managing material and human resources on site, including equipment, materials, and labor.
- Resolving technical challenges during construction by collaborating with the design team and contractors to find effective solutions.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on site by implementing accident prevention measures.
- Maintaining regular communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, design engineers, and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct filed assessment addressing the living conditions and related protection concerns of vulnerable families in different geographical areas.
- Conduct technical needs assessment for the needed maintenance/renovation works.
- Elaborate tender’s documents including the BoQ’s and technical specifications.
- Keep records of all project documents and prepare weekly and monthly reports on the project progress.

- At minimum a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- At least 3 years’ experience in civil engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of employment in the field of renovation, maintenance, and WASH interventions.
- Experience working within the NGO sector.
- Knowledgeable about the Minimum WASH and Shelter Standards.
- Knowledgeable about the protection principles.
- Experience in infrastructure and sewage networks development.
- Experience in adapting construction for the elderly and persons with disabilities (PWD).
- Organized, reliable attention to details and ability to work independently when needed.
- Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and donors.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workload and multi-task.
- Mature work practices, highly motivated and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Good reporting skills in both English & Arabic.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Integrity and strong identification with MAAN Core Values.
