Work context
CESVI has been working in Palestine since 1994, and it has developed over the years an expertise in the area of water, sanitation and environment through the implementation of projects in the field, establishing partnerships with relevant actors in the sector and thanks to active participation in the WASH cluster.
CESVI is currently implementing projects in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip.
In response to the situation in the Gaza Strip, CESVI is planning to expand its presence in the strip, through implementation of emergency and humanitarian relief response interventions. This includes but not limited to food security and basic needs assistance, and improving access to water and shelter.
Job Purpose: The Project field assistant is expected to contribute to the overall organization of field activities including community mobilization, registration, verification, and distribution.
In particular, with the support of the emergency coordinator and other team members, the incumbent is expected to:
Field activities
- Conduct community mobilization activities, including identification and registration.
- Follow up with community members and leaders on identification of most vulnerable cases.
- Ensure referral of most vulnerable cases to relevant service providers.
- Contribute to assistance distribution activities, including registration and verification.
- Deliver distribution reports to the line manager.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)
- Ensure appropriate implementation of MEAL plans, including communication with MEAL focal point and reporting of all activity and output level achievements.
- Ensure implementation of CESVI’s accountability and safe-guarding policy.
Safety and Security
- With the support of line manager, ensure adherence to CESVI’s safety procedures.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, international development, or other similar sectors.

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, international development, or other similar sectors.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the humanitarian and development sector.
- Writing and communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, specifically negotiation and diplomacy skills
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), knowledge of and experience on the use of Kobo toolbox for data collection
- Valid local driver's license
The assignment is a full-time post expected to start immediately. Subject to satisfactory performance, the period of employment may be extended.
Please note that it is a project-based post and does not imply continued employment with CESVI after the end of the contract period.
