Premiere Urgence - Aide Medicale Internationale PU-AMI is a non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian organization working toward international solidarity. PU-AMI is working in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 2002. It provides humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people in West Bank and Gaza throughout food security and Watsan programs. 

PU-AMI seeks: Project Manager - Gaza office

Overall responsibility
The candidate will be responsible for all the operation related to the project and to manage project activities under the supervision of Gaza Base Coordinator.
Responsibilities will include managing the project officers; participate in proposal writing, in addition to preparation of reports.

Main duties
-Manage the project cycle and ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation of field activities
-Collect technical information and analyse associated opportunities and risks; Identify relevant technical authorities and partners, and propose formal partnership and/or contracts.
-Monitoring and evaluation the project activities on a weekly basis
-Supervision of field officers in a professional manner: guide and direct project staff; prepare and follow work plans, and ensure a positive working environment.
-Oversee the selection of the beneficiaries in collaboration with field officers under the supervision of Gaza Base Coordinator
- Following up the beneficiaries needs and ensure the optimum allocation of means to respond to these needs
-Supervise CFW activities: time-sheets, payment schedules, and liaison with finance department.
-Conducting regular field visits to in the targeted area
-Reporting regularly on project implementation/ progress to Gaza Base Coordinator
- Managing good relation with all local partners and municipalities in the area of intervention.
-Has the ability to analyze the results and participate effectively in solving the problems
-Prepare assessment needs and participate in conducting impact studies
-Seek effectively opportunities to contribute to program development
-Participate strongly in the process of proposal writing for future projects

Accountability: Reports directly to Gaza Base Coordinator

Qualifications and experiences:
-University degree in agriculture, social science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experiences in project management. (preferably in INGOs)
-Excellent communication and coordination skills
-Excellent planning and administration skills
-Fluent in writing and speaking English and Arabic
-Excellent time and organizational management skills
-Proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel and Access.
 
Skills:
-High proposal and report writing skills
-Proven experience in dealing with CBOs and INGOs
-Strong capacity in leading the team
-Believe in the humanitarian work with diplomacy and negotiation skills
-High analytic skills.
 

Commencement:
April 8th 2012
Duration: 6 months renewable
