Project Manager

01 May 2024 – 31 December 2024. (Subject to three-month trial period, and renewable subject to successful evaluation and fund availability).

Juzoor is a leading Palestinian NGO dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Palestinian families and promoting health rights in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza.
We promote an interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral approach to improving the health and social well-being of individuals, families and communities based on national targets and needs. Juzoor works on multiple levels with civil society organizations, professionals, governmental bodies, service providers, and the community at large. Our principles are to build local capacities and empower local communities, targeting in specific women, children and youth, through innovative programs that address their psychosocial, educational, economic and reproductive health needs.
- Background:
Juzoor seeks a professional Project Manager (PM) to be responsible for the daily implementation of interventions for Juzoor for Health and Social Development (Juzoor) organisation. Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Juzoor-assigned officer, the main responsibilities of the Project Manager will include management of programme/projects implementation consistent with Juzoor’s rules and regulations, where this job requires a high sense of independence, initiative, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure.

- The position holder acknowledges that all information is confidential to Juzoor such as documents, manuals, designs, applications of all sorts, agree that these documents are the sole custody of Juzoor and should not be used outside Juzoor organization unless it is cleared by Juzoor management and the board of directors, as stipulated in Juzoor’s IT & Data Policy.
- The position holder has read, understood, and signed off to her/his Terms of Reference (ToR), as attached.
- The position holder understands and agrees to fulfil tasks related to her/his TOR, and for the benefit of Juzoor’s activities, as requested by her/his immediate supervisor.
- The position holder understands and agrees to read, comply and participate in any orientation held by Juzoor related to HR and Juzoor policies.
- Responsibilities:
- Supervising, monitoring and administering programmes/projects and providing substantive technical backstopping to coordinators and other staff;
- Ensuring timely and efficient delivery of project inputs and monitoring the project financial performance including preparing disbursement plans, forecasts, budget revisions, controlling expenditure, maintaining updated financial records and reporting to donors.
- Administering projects including preparing work plans, negotiating contracts, preparing terms of reference, recruiting project personnel, supporting goods procurement, arranging for training activities, workshops, seminars and preparing all necessary correspondence, in coordination and clearance with the Administration and Finance department, and in line with the Juzoor internal rules and guidelines.
- Preparing narrative and financial progress.
- Advice the team in matters related to Logistics Support:
- Conferences, training and workshops locally and internationally
- Study and observation tours;
- Events management;
- Travel arrangement for staff and other participants in the project activities;
- Liaise and coordinate programme and project activities internally, and with other partners and stakeholders.
- Maintain, update databases for participants in Events /Training /Trainers.
- Review, oversee and clear the development of required awareness and information material, brochures and other media resources with the support of the Marketing and Communications Senior Manager.
- Follows up an internal financial procedures and systems for projects, provide assistance in the preparation of payment.
- Guide and coordinate with the related team, and financial unit the compilation, entering and updating of a detailed record of expenditures pertaining to project implementation in a specially designed excel sheet reflecting all payments issued under each project.
- Manage from start to end each project implementation, with periodic reporting, as well as addressing the risks and mitigating for their occurrence.

- Post Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as similar managerial positions.
- Excellent understanding of project/programme management techniques and methods.
- Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting.
- Working knowledge of MS office and programme management software.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills,
- Experience required:
- Good knowledge of the health and social sectors, and people living with disabilities.
- Familiarity with development concepts.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, women groups, local communities and NGOs.
- Ability to draft reports and other documents in a precise manner.
- Excellent Knowledge of English.
- A University Degree in management of social science field – such as public health, women’s and community development studies.
- Understanding & commitment to gender-related issues.
- Experience in community development.
- Working experience of no less than five years in related fields.
- Ability to travel to different localities of the West Bank and Gaza, and as needed.

- Working Week:
- Mondays through Thursdays, and Saturdays from 08:00 – 16:00 daily, Flexibility of working hours may be coordinated with supervisor. Official weekends are on Fridays and Sundays
