Project Manager
Internews is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a three-year media support project in the West Bank and Gaza. The Project Manager will manage, implement, and oversee all project activities, as well as coordinate with project partners and stakeholders. The Project Manager will be an expert with a deep understanding of media trends and challenges, in particular with regard to digital media, as well as stakeholder and audience engagement in West Bank and Gaza. The Project Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of the project, ensuring work is proceeding according to workplans, coordinating with local partners, organizing the timely completion of high-quality deliverables, and drafting regular project reports. The Project Manager will work with activity-specific consultants and trainers, along with personnel from partners, to ensure successful project implementation. The Project Manager reports to the Program Manager - MENA and the MENA Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. The Project Manager reports to the Program Manager - MENA and MENA Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. The Project Manager will also work closely with several teams at Internews headquarters in Washington, DC and Arcata, CA, which provide high-level technical advice, ensure compliance with Internews' and donors' policies and regulations, and offer backstopping support.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:
- Plan, lead, and conduct regular monitoring of project activities to ensure project objectives are being met.
- Prepare monthly reports to the MENA Program Manager on project execution.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and learning and adapt program activities as necessary, in coordination with the Program Manager and Internews Headquarters team in Washington, DC.
- Manage the work of project consultants.
- Coordinate with local partners and project beneficiaries.
- Attend and assist in the facilitation of project workshops and events.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings as requested.
- Stay informed and update the Program Manager about political developments relevant to the project context.
- Regularly assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing media outlets, journalists/other content creators, and media support organizations in the West Bank and Gaza through personal communications, regular observation, and design and review of applicable research with a particular focus on digital media.
- Work closely with project partners: design, organize, and lead relevant trainings, consultants, pitch sessions, and other support programs for media professionals, content creators, and media support organizations.
- Cultivate a network of experts in various aspects of journalism, media business and management, media literacy, and related spheres to serve as additional trainers, mentors, and speakers.
- Nurture relationships with media professionals, media outlets, research institutions, media literacy initiatives, media faculties, and media support organizations in the region.
- Perform regular reporting on the results and impact of program support. Responsible for the development of progress reports, workplans, presentations, fact sheets, donor reports, and other explanatory and communications materials.

QUALIFICATIONS WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, including project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of media networks and landscape in West Bank and Gaza; strong expertise in the civil society sector.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Flexibility to adjust working hours as needed to accommodate periodic shifts in workload and colleagues in different time zones.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and good time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail; problem-solving and analytical skills required.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond to changes in priorities.
- Strong sense of teamwork and productivity.
Preferred
Note: Candidates who do not have these preferred qualifications, but who are interested and willing to learn, are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working on international donor-funded media or democracy support projects preferred.
- Experience working with media in conflict zones and journalists in distress is preferred.
- Familiarity with issues related to media literacy, access to information, digital security, and/or audience measurement and analysis is a plus.
